@Ginger1159 I did something similar 3 yrs ago. Blower motor went out. HVAC company wanted $1800. I researched, ordered a motor on Amazon. Found video on YouTube on how to install the motor and installed it myself.

My son’s A/C went out last week when it in the ‘90’s so he called an HVAC company to come get an estimate. They said that the motor needed to be replaced and they quoted him $2,393. He went to Granger and bought one for $347 and installed it himself which saved his family $2,046. I’m so proud of him for that! Granger for the win! 💖😸

Dear Gen X, I’ve been watching 80s movies and I just need to know…WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS?? Every child was just wandering the earth unsupervised like a raccoon with house keys. Riding bikes across town at midnight, fighting ghosts, investigating murders, befriending cryptids, hacking government computers for funsies… And the parents were ALWAYS “out of town” or “working late” while the only adult-adjacent supervision was some random 16-year-old who got dragged into the chaos. No cell phones. No helmets. No adult supervision. Just vibes, life lessons, and several near-death experiences. You all weren’t “raised.” You were lightly monitored feral creatures with a bike and unresolved trauma. I’m genuinely shocked there are enough of you left to populate an entire generation.

One food I’ve added a lot more to my diet over the last year— and genuinely think it’s done me a lot of good: Cottage Cheese Half a cup of cottage cheese has about 15 grams of protein and a decent amount of calcium, B12, and selenium. If’s also very filling for the calories. I just had it as a side with dinner. Eat it all the time now! I put salt and pepper on it to make tastier. Pro-tip: if you buy cottage cheese, ALWAYS check the ingredient label: It should be pure and minimal. A lot of brands in the US add s**t like gums, weird additives, preservatives etc.

We just bought a new home that has a bunch of beautiful windows. However, there is a window in my children's bathroom that is on the front of the house and very close to the shower. Looking for recommendations on how to keep the light but also give my children privacy while they're in the bathroom. (The thing currently covering the bottom of the window is a mirror that's temporarily leaning against the house.)

I opened Netflix one evening and immediately noticed something was off. My “Continue Watching” section was full of shows and movies I had never seen before, all in Hindi. At first I thought maybe Netflix was glitching, but then I checked the logged-in devices and realized someone in India had somehow been using my account. Everyone needs to calm down over this one. There's some important context missing, here. This would generally only happen in Canada if someone has expressed to a psychiatrist that they intend to harm themselves or someone else. If that doctor isn't able to have them detained at the time, they refer it to the police. It sounds like they have been trying to get in contact with him for this reason. They couldn't find him when they went looking for him, so there was most likely a BOLO issued. His plate got picked up and the officer would have had a note to detain him. Without the missing context, though, it's difficult to say, but it seems like this is the most likely scenario. So, no, police aren't just pulling people over and then arbitrarily taking them off to psych wards.

A biophysics grad was just detained under BC's Mental Health Act. All based on a psychiatrist's opinion after observing him in a cafe. He looked at him & said “I’m certifying you” THAT’S ALL IT TOOK. No warrant. No on scene evaluation. No psych evaluation. No paperwork shown. No chance to comply voluntarily. Just because a psychiatrist saw him in a cafe. Meanwhile, the same city has a documented drug addicts, where one person, has been apprehended 79 times and is still on the street. The government can grab a credentialed researcher off the road in 20 minutes but it can't keep a chronic offender out of the same intersection for more than a week? What a joke.

@BamaSaltyMarine I had a 2013 Buick Enclave that you could pick whole seat to heat or just the Back or just the butt. I've Never seen it as a option in any other vehicle. I hurt my back in car accident & had to drive to Vancouver, had back heat on while A/c was blowing as it was 32 degrees out
