I’ve visited countless schools, I know Alberta teachers work hard. Our offer hires 3,000 new teachers and provides a 12 percent raise, over 4 years, giving them the highest take home pay in western Canada, so students get better access to their teachers and greater support in class.   It is a real plan that puts help in classrooms now. We hope the ATA says yes so we can deliver this for students, families, and teachers this year.

Alberta is sitting on the 3rd largest lithium reserve in the world and thanks to companies such as E3 and Lithiumbank, we’re turning that potential into progress. Their groundbreaking technology extracts high grade lithium directly from brine water, a byproduct of our oil and gas operations. I had the pleasure of touring their facility and seeing firsthand how this Alberta innovation can process lithium to battery grade quality right here at home. This is the future: cleaner tech, global demand, Alberta know-how. I can’t wait to see where this goes.

No, wrong again... it is "solar energy" and it can never be electricity. The switch on your wall doesn't control the sun LOL The solar energy is worth less than 1 cent per KWH... The generation station don't need it and don't want it. The solar imputed to the grid makes power plants far less efficient. It is a net negative affect.

@Chrisgormley @caseyames My point is it is a financial impact, just because it direct impacts COGS and not OPEX doesn't mean its not detrimental to the business. I don't see any mention of him having 6 months of inventory to weather the storm, it seems he has the opposite problem. Where does he say it?

You/we should have already left china many years ago. The fact that this now needs to happen so abruptly is exactly the issue at hand. Either produce in the Usa. Innovate through improving automated production processes. Or produce in countries with the same values and good relations

People were correct on the poll! The price we got to make our product in the US was $124.95 Which doesn't include shipping to our 3PL, fulfilling to the customer, Amazon fees, etc. Even with the 145% tariff my landed cost (making & getting my product to my warehouse in Boise) would be ~$78 from China I'd have to sell my Sensory Swing for $200+ in order to manufacture in the US. For the people who said, "if you can't make your product in the US, you shouldn't make your product" well, I can't make my product in the US at a price that any consumer would purchase. So if Harkla leaves the market, who stays? Chinese based sellers If we could have a real conversation instead of theoretical, the question is now: Do you think I should shut down my company and let Chinese based sellers fully take over Amazon? Or is better to have an Idaho Based company: - With US based employees - Paying US taxes (corporate, payroll, property, tariffs) - With US insurance - That has US Child Product Certifications - Has a real US based customer service team you can call - Audits & Visits their factories in China If your suggestion is "friend-shoring" then sure, that's a fine suggestion and we're working really hard on it. But moving supply chains to different countries takes time. If I could get even 6 months of deferral on tariffs, I could make it happen. I know many companies simply can't move out of China, so this is a selfish ask for my company that could make it happen. A US Small Business Tariff Deferral for 6 months would mean no layoffs for my US based employees

Just got our 1st quote for our best selling sensory swing from a US Manufacturer. Can you guess how much it was? This product costs us ~$31 to manufacture in China & ~$34 to get to our warehouse in Boise, Idaho And to remind you, it's extremely high quality: - US Child Product Certifications - Highest rated sensory swing on the market (check Amazon) - OOEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 fabric - Our hardware is rated to rock climbing standards - We pay extra for 3rd party inspections on every order - We do AQL II checks when it arrives in Boise

@caseyames Curious that American Giant can sell at Walmart an American grown and made t-shirt for $13. How do I square this with the author's post? Economies of scale? Interesting.

@Chrisgormley @caseyames 1. The tariffs are just on the products, so that is all that matters in the context of your current position. Nonsense.. reduced profit margin IS THE SAME CONTEXT. Profits are how businesses stay in business. 2. How do you know he has 6 months of inventory btw?

This is your statement. You need 6 months to figure out an alternate plan. The tariffs are just on the products, so that is all that matters in the context of your current position. You have items in stock, so that already buys you most / all of the 6 months you stated that you need. All it takes now is doing the work.

Elon, I have long admired you and what you have accomplished, especially at SpaceX and Tesla. You know as well as I do, that Butch and Suni are returning with Crew-9, as has been the plan since last September. Even now, you are not sending up a rescue ship to bring them home. They are returning on the Dragon capsule that has been on ISS since last September.

True. US tariffs on Canadian potash ➡️ higher fertilizer costs ➡️ less fertilizer use ➡️ lower crop yields ➡️ less food production ➡️ more starvation & malnutrition. But “have fun!”
Duncan Dee 🇮🇱🇺🇦@duncandee

@jkenney Also raises the prices of potash from other sources given the increased demand for non-tariffed supply.

Fantastic to see a clear political consensus across Canada in favour of a strong response to Trump’s bizarre, completely unprovoked attack on our economy. 🇨🇦 To the small number who oppose reciprocal tariffs: do you actually think Donald Trump respects weakness? And to the blame Canada crowd: remember that this is the President who signed CUSMA 6 years ago, calling it “the best trade deal in history.” The same agreement he is now shredding.

@dochunts @jkenney Correct but if you don't buy it from Canada, you're going to pay a lot more per ton to extract it domestically or ship it from Russia. Its not available in vast high concentrations where its extremely economical to produce like it is in a handful of places in the world.

He just raised the cost of fertilizers on American farmers by 25%, and tells them to “have fun.” (80% of potash used in the USA comes Canada.)

@CCMack13 @Intothebumper @jkenney I've heard about this from people, what is it about? I am open enough to listen, but i just hear people talking about a criminal org running our country without any sort of backing to it. I get that there wouldnt be blatant evidence out there, but gotta be some basis for it?
