@David43783648 @peaklass1 You'd struggle to find a more popular spot on a sunny day. It's hugely popular with families & others for picnics & paddling - almost too busy, some would say. Clearly benefits more folk now than in the past - certainly since many discovered it during lockdowns #wilderfuture

@peaklass1 It was grazed by sheep or cows,that kept it clear from weeds. You probably got more use out of the green space than you do now. There are plenty of green spaces around for wildlife.

The #PeakDistrict is littered with many unsung fragments of quiet history. It’s hard to cross this 18th century clapper bridge over the River Bradford, its design simple but perfect, without thinking of the many feet and hooves that have gone before you.
