@samhampton Me too, I’ve definitely tried to pick it up myself and, like my daughter, I understand some things, but speaking is much harder as there’s a lot more to think about. It doesn’t help that we haven’t visited Portugal in a while as a few intense weeks of it can help.

At #eceee2022, have met many multilingual people and had chats about raising bilingual kids. 1st time I’ve heard assertion that ‘mother tongue’ is a literal thing, i.e. if the dad who has the other language, then kids unlikely to be fluent. Is that actually a thing?
