There is a genuine paid job in Brazil that involves estimating people’s race by analysing their phenotype - skin tone, hair texture, facial features etc. Reason for it is Brazil has racial quotas so special ‘Heteroidentification Panels’ have to confirm ethnicity before hiring etc

Back in 2015 I was working at a yoga studio.
Well dressed Older guy walked in an I gave him a compliment about his tie.
Immediately he began un-tying the tie and he gave it to me.
Never met him, and he was willing to give me his tie without a second thought.

I crashed really hard emotionally when I got back from Brazil. this overwhelming sense of loneliness and sadness came over me as I got back. and I’ve realized it’s bc in Brazil, I never felt alone. there was always people around, being friendly, saying hi on the street. I miss it

Just walked past this brand-new T5 house in Almada.
Asking price: €1,700,000.
It´s already finished and hasn´t been sold.
The same street is littered with abandoned, half-collapsed buildings and “inhabited” ones that look like they’ll crumble in the next gust of wind.
Only in Portugal´s housing bubble.

Has been the best skill for myself and many others.
