The number of fans suggesting El Achkar could or should be dropped this week is surprising. We actually need more damaging small forwards in the side, not fewer. Plus he and Kako need time to build chemistry together, as they’re a big part of our future. Keeping him in also allows Kako to play his natural game and push further up the ground when needed. And historically, small forwards can develop perfectly well at AFL level without needing to go back and play VFL. Furthermore, a lot of his current defensive deficiencies can be addressed, coached, and improved at AFL level. #GoDons

Papley being penalised for holding the ball after having his head ripped off was the perfect summation of that game. Difficult enough to win without your two best players; damn near impossible when playing against 27.

Do so called ‘AFL Fans’ even like the sport? You have an exciting high-scoring shootout, they complain there’s no defending. Then you have an old-fashioned 60-52 slug, they complain it’s not exciting. Whether it’s 1st v 2nd in front of 95k, or 17th vs 18th - footy is footy.
