It’s not a coincidence that Prime Minister Modi of India addressed the Israeli Knesset yesterday. The Israeli and Indian governments have something in common—they are conducting a war against Muslims. Netanyahu is not only genociding hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, he has systematically blown up over 800 mosques in Gaza where Palestinians were praying. Netanyahu has also bombed three churches. These atrocities are not getting much news coverage in the U.S. mainstream media. Why? -R

The media won’t tell you this, but Israel has now killed 680,000 Palestinians in Gaza. 479,000 of them were children. This is a holocaust. Repeat it. Spread it. Let the world know.

This is insane. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio just gave one of the most explicitly pro-colonialist speeches I have seen in the 21st century. The US empire wants Europe to help it recolonize the Global South. Rubio praised Western colonialists for "settl[ing] new continents, build[ing] vast empires extending out across the globe". Then Rubio complained about the Global South's decolonization, portraying it as a sinister communist plot. Rubio lamented: "The great Western empires had entered into terminal decline, accelerated by godless communist revolutions and by anti-colonial uprisings that would transform the world and drape the red hammer and sickle across vast swaths of the map in the years to come". Rubio delivered this speech at the Munich Security Conference, surrounded by European leaders, who gave him a standing ovation. They loved the pro-colonialist diatribe. The US secretary of state insisted that North American and European imperialists should unite in order to reverse "the West’s managed decline", to revive "the West’s age of dominance", to "renew the greatest civilization in human history". This is a blatant call by the US empire to resuscitate Western colonialism and recolonize the Global South (which represents the Global Majority). In praise, support and, yes, celebration of Francesca Albanese. As Francesca prepares to present her 8th report to the UN on the treatment of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories, her demonisation follows a familiar pattern: Some fake NGO spreads falsehoods about Francesca, outrage is then engineered and, finally, calls for her resignation as the UN’s Special Rapporteur are issued by the governments of Germany, France, Czechia etc. - by politicians who for years now have done their utmost to arm and provide diplomatic cover to Israel’s genocidal government. Why? For a simple reason: So that you and I, we, do not talk about the hideous facts that Francesca is exposing with such brilliant clarity and legal precision: the Palestinians’ genocide, the economic motives of a corporate world that profits from the Occupation, the torture of Israel’s Palestinian captives, Israel’s never-ending violations of International Law etc. Today, Francesca Albanese’s detractors, those who seek to shield Israel from her well-documented, factual, legitimate criticism by getting her fired or by forcing her resignation from her position of UN Special Rapporteur – these people do not understand one thing: Francesca will NEVER stop! She will continue to expose Israel’s crimes whether she is the UN’s Special Rapporteur or not. My message to them is simple: Francesca Albanese may be even more successful in shining light on Israel’s genocide if you strip her of her UN role. Beware what you wish for!

These crimes are connected. This isn’t some freak scandal. This is the same ruling elite that murders children abroad and then acts shocked when we learn they were also abusing them behind closed doors. Say it again: An elite that views children as disposable in war will see them as disposable EVERYWHERE. Same people, same system, same total moral rot.

I want to acknowledge a mistake. When I wrote this, I had not read all of the released emails, particularly the Feb 2019 email in which Chomsky gave advice to Epstein on responding to media coverage of his crimes. What I had seen pertained to correspondence about a financial dispute in Chomsky's family that he sought Epstein's input for, and the two discussing travel arrangements/meetings in years prior. Even if Chomsky only knew what Epstein had been convicted of -- soliciting prostitution from a minor -- and hadn't read the Miami Herald stories that had come out by Feb 2019, it's inexcusable to me that he'd be offering him advice on how to navigate the PR fallout. I do not mean to downplay that. As I said in my original post, I think Chomsky practiced bad judgment befriending Epstein. He knew what company Epstein kept. On that front, I also don't understand how he could have had friendly private chats with Israeli war criminal Ehud Barak. It's unfortunate that Chomsky, for medical reasons, is not able to explain himself. It is my hope that his wife, Valeria, who appears in the Epstein emails as a key interlocutor, will offer a public explanation. I was upset by what I saw as a rush to nullify a lifetime of noble work and throw Chomsky under the bus. But reverence for Chomsky's work does not justify minimizing the harm to Epstein’s victims.
