Observation: Over 54% of Uganda’s artists depend on live performances as their primary source of income. For years, Uganda led the East African region in hosting frequent, multi artist events especially during peak seasons like Easter and Christmas. Back then a single artist could perform at up to seven shows in one day, driven by high demand and a vibrant events ecosystem. But this Easter weekend tells a different story. There are noticeably fewer concerts and large scale events happening across the country. This isn’t just a seasonal dip it raises a bigger question about the health of Uganda’s live music economy.
