National Gardens Week is an opportunity for all South Africans to discover the important work taking place in the country’s zoological and botanical gardens — from scientific research and biodiversity conservation to environmental education and tourism. Throughout the week, the public is encouraged to visit these spaces and experience first-hand the role they play in protecting South Africa’s rich natural heritage. Visitors can enjoy free entry to participating national gardens throughout the week, offering families, students and tourists an opportunity to explore these spaces, learn about conservation, and reconnect with nature.
