One week of groceries for a family. Nothing extravagant. Just the bare bones in a blue state. I stay home. My husband only leaves the house to work. We have cancelled vacations. Taken our children out of extracurricular activities. Cancelled our gym membership’s. We do not go out to restaurants frequently. The Mets medical staff isn’t confident that they can get Jorge Polanco’s Achilles bursitis to go away this season. This is concerning to me. With the correct product used, and the correct technique under ultrasound this can be accomplished quite easily. How much money are the Mets spending on their medical staff? 🤦🏼‍♂️ Here’s one I did a couple months ago that resolved about 4-6 weeks despite the patient actively training and competing for a Hyrox competition. As someone (yes I’m doing it) who graduated from one of the toughest dive schools in the world and has MANY dives off the California coast (considered to be an extremely challenging/dangerous place to dive)… if dude says “we enter cave at 50 meters” I’m saying… yeah FUCK NO.

Before anyone asks, yes I watched Rousey-Carano and that was textbook Ronda Rousey. Immediately shoot for a takedown and go for the arm. Some amateur wrestling technique, but that was Judo 101. Unless you avoid a takedown, she's going for the arm. If she gets it, it's over. It's no accident that with the exception of her two losses in the UFC that were knockouts, virtually all of her fights end the same way. Get the arm lock it where the opponent has one choice either submit or have their arm snapped. Unless Carano was able to land a punch or a kick and avoid the shot (Shooting for a takedown) this was the logical conclusion. Some will complain, but Rousey made a career out of ending fights just as she did tonight and just as quickly. Carano had no choice, but to submit, Rousey had her arm hyper extended too quickly and there wasn't an escape. Christ. 160 is way past past narc depth and into CNS oxygen toxicity range. Been diving for most of my life and the deepest I've ever been was 210 on trimix and that was incredibly intimidating. I don't even go past 40 without nitrox. Can't imagine 160 on air. Those poor people.

@JackLinFLL @nypost STFU One had 5k dives, tech and cave certifications. 3 were marine biologists specialized in marine topography and mapping, three were certified instructors, one a guide in Maldivian liveaboards. Everyone is an “experienced diver” until they die in a cave.

@nypost As a lifelong SCUBA diver with more experience than most I guarantee you none of these people were qualified for this dive. They either lost their guideline or never deployed one. Someone kicked up silt and they swam in panicked circles until they drowned.

As a scuba instructor, I can tell you what happened. They were disoriented in the cave, panicked & ran out of air. At a depth of 160 ft, you breathe at 5 times the atmospheric pressure of sea level. Therefore, the dive must be very short with a single tank, less than 30 minutes. Including a 10 minute safety stop at 15 feet. Truly sad. They were attempting a difficult dive without proper training.

Ok. Vulnerable post but here we are. I just weighed in at 141.4 lbs. Since Sept 2024 to today, May 15, 2026, I have lost 100lbs. It hurts to say that and share but I am going to share it because I worked so damn hard every week for over a year and a half to shed this weight. It did not happen overnight. If it wasn’t for having this incredibly challenging goal in fighting @rondarousey I most definitely wouldn’t have reached this. I was pre-diabetic, had trouble simply walking in September 2024 and have been on the path to recovery to turn myself back into an athlete since then. It was hard, SO damn hard.. there was so much to learn, too much to unpack here, ups, downs, plateaus, things I learned late I wish I learned earlier, trial by error but I did it. Thank you to Ronda, who waited patiently while I lost this weight and giving me something to aim for. There is still so much I need to learn and want to do in the health space and to continue transforming my body, but for today, I thank God, my husband and my family for sticking with and encouraging me the whole way. I pray this encourages you wherever you are in your health journey. Believe there is hope. Never give up. Ok.. enough emo, I’ve got a fight tomorrow. We’ve worked so hard to get here. I have had a dozen or so patients who maxed out their weight loss on tirzepatide and then lost another 10-20 or more pounds after I added naltrexone. Why? After continued discussions they admitted they were still drinking a lot of alcohol. The tirzepatide, as good as it usually is, didn’t change their alcohol intake. The naltrexone did though and they were able to mostly eliminate alcohol and lose the weight (and get healthier).
