guys booking a hotel and flight 2 weeks out to an expensive european city is expensive. Also I'm not sure if you've noticed but there's a war going on that doubled jet fuel prices. The Airport tax is like 30 bucks. You can fly everywhere direct from schiphol for usually quite ok prices.

Planning an Amsterdam trip with gf Airbnbs are mostly banned so you get subpar and expensive hotels (min 200€ per night for 2 stars, and under 20 variants left for the whole city at this price) The Netherlands has an extremely high airport tax, so no low-costers as well Flight prices from other cities in Europe start at 300€ So a weekend trip now costs 500€ min Thanks to leftist policies, you need to be a millionaire in Europe to afford life here

Leiden might be the best candidate if you want to visit a Dutch city and avoid the tourist shithole that Amsterdam is in 2026 (I am Dutch and from Amsterdam) Leiden is in some way might be more historically significant than Amsterdam (more on that in my reply) You'll find zero tourists and as a tourist you won't even be able to see the difference with Amsterdam (except that there's no annoying tourists!)

worst flight of my life on @lufthansa attendant spills ginger ale on me at takeoff. ok, accidents happen hours later another attendant spills HOT tea on me. i get burned. clothes, seat, everything soaked i ask for a dry seat. crew manager arrives 30 min later YELLING at me i ask for compensation. she finger-points telling me to shut up and that she'll have me DETAINED on landing i start crying. she takes me to the galley to offer "a solution" the solution: a 5€ voucher to clean my clothes i tell her i'm recording. she switches to german to keep yelling and told me that i can't record i have video. but i'd rather not post me crying with my burnt leg out here then on my connection flight they charged me for the carry-on that was included and approved on my previous lufthansa flight. that lady was also rude seems like lufthansa only hires disrespectful people worst travel experience of my life. honestly not sure what to do

There's an UNBELIEVABLE use case for regional trips in the US that will decimate air travel and buses. Fully autonomous Tesla Robovans outfitted as long-haul first-class "buses". These would run routes similar to Amtrak or Greyhounds, but with First-Class-like comfort, amenities, and space. The price per seat of these can be the same as a bus, but FAR more comfortable and FAR more luxurious. Can obviously optimize the interior for the best configuration but MAN. This would absolutely KILL.
