🚨 You Could Get Drunk… Without Ever Drinking! Imagine eating a slice of bread and suddenly feeling dizzy, confused, or tipsy… without touching a drop of alcohol. It sounds like a prank, but for a few people around the world, it’s real. This mysterious condition is called Auto-Brewery Syndrome—a rare disorder where your own body turns food into alcohol! Tiny yeast and bacteria in the gut feast on the carbohydrates you eat, fermenting them into alcohol that flows straight into your bloodstream. The result? Slurred speech, fatigue, and a “drunk” feeling… all without a single sip. Doctors say it’s extremely rare, often misdiagnosed, and can be managed with special diets, medications, and gut care. Could your own body be secretly brewing alcohol inside you? For those with this syndrome, every meal is a potential cocktail… and it’s a medical mystery that’s still being studied. Source: Cordell, B., & Kelly, D. (2012). Auto-brewery syndrome: A clinical review. American Journal of Gastroenterology, 107(3), 285–289.

@SheilaKhama Sadly, this seems to be the dirty policies the Global North continues to impose on Africa. And the leaders are far from waking up. Africa needs Technological Sovereignty.

In my own words I cite a law passed by the Chinese government in 2024 to bar all Chinese entities from exporting Chinese developed REE mineral processing technologies as proof of the country’s goal to protect its position of dominance including through restricting activities of Chinese companies operating in other jurisdictions. 😳 You Won’t Believe Who Your Distant Cousin Is… What if I told you that deep inside your cells, you share a secret connection with something you eat every day? That’s right… you and a banana share about 60% of your genes. Scientists call it a “genetic cousin,” and it’s true! Before you laugh, think about this: those genes control the very building blocks of life—how your body grows, how your cells function, and even how your DNA repairs itself. Evolution has been quietly recycling these tiny instructions for millions of years, connecting humans to creatures and plants in ways you’d never imagine.Next time you peel a banana, remember: it’s not just a snack… it’s a reminder of the hidden threads that tie all life together. Who knew your breakfast could be this mysterious? Source: National Human Genome Research Institute. (2023). Comparative genomics: Humans and bananas share genes

Statement by President George W. Bush on the passing of Robert Mueller: "Laura and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Robert Mueller. Bob dedicated his life to public service. As a Marine in Vietnam, he proved he was ready for tough assignments. He earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart before returning home to pursue law. In 2001, only one week into the job as the 6th Director of the F.B.I., Bob transitioned the agency mission to protecting the homeland after September 11. He led the agency effectively, helping prevent another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Laura and I send our heartfelt sympathy to his wife of nearly 60 years, Ann, and the Mueller family."

Embassy of Japan in Zimbabwe /在ジンバブエ日本国大使館
Ambassador Maekawa enjoyed an authentic Zimbabwean highly nutritious meal of small grain brown sadza, kale and beans. It was a first trial and liked the wholesome natural taste that comes with it. Ambassador Maekawa will put the fork and knife aside next time.
