Marston Riley, a 64-year-old music teacher at Maywood Academy High School in California, was recorded punching a 14-year-old student after the student threw a basketball and directed repeated racial slurs and profanity at him. The altercation began when the teacher asked the student to leave for violating the uniform policy; the student refused. The teacher struck the student multiple times before staff separated them. He was arrested on suspicion of child abuse and charged with a misdemeanor. The case was dismissed after he completed anger management classes and retired early.

If you're condoning the teacher's actions here, you're essentially saying it's ok for adults to lose their shit. Yes, the teacher was provoked, but the difference between adults and 14 year old kids, is that adults, especially teachers, should have the life experience and skill set to manage situations like this. Losing your cool is never the answer, even worse when it's between anadult and a child.
