@EricaFonseca08 @katlikespasta95 @KrissieTX @0liviajulianna It is confusing. I think ever having a Pell meant you were “needier”, so they are forgiving a bigger balance. They assume if you never needed a Pell you had more family resources or whatever.

Low income folks had to take loans for that. Those lowest inco e pess recipients get 20k in forgiveness.

If you make under $125,000, you're eligible for up to $10,000 in student loan debt relief. And almost ninety percent of the benefit will go to folks making less than $75,000 a year.
