One year ago this project was just a spinning trading card in three.js.
I built the first animation in @v0 out of pure curiosity: “Can I pull this off?” That experiment turned into a whole product — catalog, profiles, public pages, a CMS, wallet integrations, and a design system that kept stretching every day.
AI helped us iterate faster: trying new styles, improving the spin, speeding up image loading. We hit limits too: holographic effects were too heavy for mobile, 2D cards felt too flat, and tools wouldn’t let us swap textures the way we needed.
We asked @splinetool for API texture swapping — and they actually shipped it. Then @ilyakazakov rebuilt the rotation with a newer GPT model and suddenly our cards had real thickness. We pushed the new version live and it just felt right.
Yesterday I was fixing a couple of bugs and noticed the preview still lagged. Switched image loading to async (again with a nudge from AI) and the cards now appear noticeably faster.
All of this from one simple question a year ago: “What if I try to make a spinning card?”
Introducing Sands of Productivity for figmamakeathon at @contra ⏳🫧 😅
Tap to flip. Sand flows.
Choose your intent: Client work • Learning • Passion projects • Rest. Focus on one thing at a time.
Choose your time: 10s (breath) • 1m (reset) • 30m (focus) • 1h (deep work)
By the end of the day, see exactly where your time actually flowed.
