Spud isn’t the story. Codex isn’t the story. It’s what happens when they’re fused. Model + execution + multimodal + apps → one surface The mega app is the delivery. OpenClaw was the prototype. This is OpenAI’s next-gen OpenClaw. Not features. A control plane.

🤖 Kept hitting @github rate limits across my agents. Shipped two things: – RepoBar got a JUICE METER – gitcrawl is now also a drop-in gh cache → symlink it as gh, reads served from local SQLite gitcrawl.sh repobar.app

watching the animated cursor in the codex app, for both browser and computer use– it’s mesmerizing

A meaningful leap from GPT 5.5 would be life changing, considering 5.5 is already a daily necessity for developing

@sama Fast 5.5 xhigh is ridiculous. The problem is I now trust it with real work, hit the weekly limit, and medium feels like dial-up — while having to work twice as hard with Codex to get the outcome right.

@thsottiaux The north star: act in the real environment, verify the real outcome, show proof, and keep going without making the user babysit the workflow.

@thsottiaux Codex is best when it can just get the thing done end-to-end. What holds it back most for me: Windows/Mac feature parity, fragile Browser Use on real sites/forms, unreliable browser file uploads/downloads, and brittle tool/plugin/skill setup that the agent has to debug itself.

What are we obviously not getting right with Codex?

@thsottiaux Also: long or image-gen-heavy threads should auto-handoff before lag, session logs need retention/summarization/cleanup with less base64/media bloat, remote/mobile continuation would be huge, and image generation needs real pipeline primitives: batch jobs, retries, QA, provenance

@sama Codex is already life-changing, and this is the worst it will ever be. /goals is the unlock: set the outcome, let it work while you do other things, come back to progress. Make it first-class on Windows, Mac, and mobile. Every moment from here is the greatest time to be alive.

you know what all of these "which is better" polls are silly use codex or claude code, whatever works best for you i am grateful we live in a time with such amazing tools, and grateful there is a choice
