Guess I was right about this one.
Bye bye MCP
Erwin@Erwin_AI
I still don't get why MCP exists and what it does differently than having an API. Yes, it's built "for AI specifically" but AI is already capable of using APIs. And we have tons of good protocols/frameworks already. Srsly, I can't be the only one here thinking this?
English

@sobedominik I have many but I successfully ignore them. Acknowledging them is not an option. Except in this specific post... I see them now... fck.
English

Anyone here also dealing with eye floaters? Any tips how to deal with them better?
I already have dark mode on most of my day to day work but it doesn't help when going outside or looking... against a wall 😅
I've been dealing with them for years already but lately I feel like they got either worse or my brain focuses too much on them for some reason.
There's no real easy cure yet but just curious if anyone here has it as well? 🤝

@josefbuettgen @ericzakariasson could you help perhaps?
I'm doubting if Josef actually broke rules, knowing his use case..

This morning my OpenAI account got permanently restricted.
Reason: they 'identified activity that is not permitted under the OpenAI policies'.
After filing an appeal I was only informed about the decision being final and no additional requests to appeal are being considered.
I'm on a paid ChatGPT plan and have a funded API balance, now I can not access my account anymore.
Additionally, I can not manage billing and cancel ongoing subscription anymore.
I've been a big fan and user of the companies products for a long time and see no other way to reach out now, hence this post.
@OpenAI I'm asking you to please reopen this case, let me know what the explicit cause for the restriction is and at least let me manage the accounts, before restricting access, so I can cancel ongoing subscriptions and export data.

LLM caching mainly refers to KV (key-value) cache in the attention mechanism: it stores previous computations during token generation for speed, without changing output quality—it's mathematically equivalent to full recompute.
Shared response/prompt caching (e.g., for common queries across users) reuses stored results to cut costs/compute. For exact matches it's identical; for fuzzy/semantic matches it can introduce slight inconsistencies or less tailored answers, which might feel like quality drop over time if the cache isn't refreshed with model updates.
No broad evidence it systematically degrades models, but aggressive cost-saving can contribute to perceived "nerfing" alongside other factors like load balancing.
English

We need some whistleblowers to confirm our gut feeling they do this, it's getting annoying
If no whistleblowers show up we can all sleep in peace again
Dean Fiacco@DeanFiacco
@levelsio They nerf these models after release. It’s insane
English

@massimillennium @levelsio @farmingdev1 I think this is a very valid point. It will also help the current situation, as you can't really solve it with stronger entry policies alone anymore.
English

@levelsio @farmingdev1 I say stop being soft on crime. I don't understand why and how it happened, this idea of being super soft and understanding, it is utter nonsense. One reason Asia is so safe is because of deterrence.

A Brazilian today told me she visited Europe a week ago
She says she felt more unsafe in Europe than the city were she's from in South Brazil, Curitiba, which is pretty safe
She felt most unsafe in Belgium and the Netherlands
Which is really sad to hear as a Dutch person that it has come to this
She was followed by three guys after getting off at the train, who were signalling things to each other as if they were gonna try rob her or worse
She then fled to a group of local guys to act like she was their friend so they got away from her
Of course one thing to note she was in the center of Amsterdam and Brussels, which you wouldn't wish to anybody, but then again it's crazy we can't keep our centers in Europe safe anymore
In North and South America, downtown cities are generally like this, full of crime, junkies, etc, Brazil of course too, but Europe's centers used to be nice and historical and cute and clean and SAFE!

To suggest that a general purpose tool can do what a specialized tool can do is ancient old fossilized bs going back decades.
Zack doesn't substantiate why "AI Tools" aren't good, just implies all they do is templating.
I have news for you, Zack: those prompts that you say that matter, Legal AI tools write the majority of them in system prompts. Most lawyers don't, because they don't know how and they don't have time to learn how to do so.
Reaching into documents, formatting, correcting, fact-checking? That's what Legal AI tools do too, just more precise and oriented to the workflow of lawyers.
And what about privacy? Just dump all your clients data into Claude? Nice.
Good Legal AI tools run specialized anonymization systems to make sure even LLMs can't see sensitive data, yet are able to process, answer and work with all data effectively.
I could go on and on. Point is, this post is extremely short-sighted.

@martbln_dev @Shail_2302_ No, I won't trust a third party with my and my users' financial details. Stripe has a native share function.
English

Can we collectively stop getting baited and give these people a podium?
Not a single one of these kind of claims are accompanied by proof or a product name.
Ignore and move on. Don't interact because it causes timeline pollution.
Thnx.
Dillion@dillionverma
i bootstrapped my first app from 0 to $300k MRR in 45 days no vc, no paid ads, no influencers
English

@rohandave_ The problem is there is too much incentive to lie about it.
He isn't providing proof whatsoever. Therefore the sole purpose is to gain clout by throwing around big numbers.
We have enough of that bs on here. It's rapidly degrading the startup bubble experience here on X.
English

@Erwin_AI dillion is a real one, he's been in the game for years & i've seen his stuff, its real.
there's no incentive to share b2c app names on X early on because its actually incredibly easy to reverse engineer apps content-to-download funnel (has happened to me too)
English

@isekainocto Understandable, but then it's simply the symptom of something else innit
English

@Erwin_AI The first thing you have to understand is that the overall "tax" (earning+spending) in Europe can easily reach 70% or more. Our free time hence is most valuable because it is the only thing that is not taxed (yet) as long as you don't buy anything/travel/go out etc.
English

This is the problem with EU mindset as a one-liner.
Europeans don't comprehend someone _wants_ to work 7 days a week.
Matthias Schmidt@eurofounder
@levelsio @steipete Wow, he is angry that it’s illegal to work 7 days a week. Exactly type of a person we don’t need in the EU
English

@Erwin_AI You said EU prevents you from working 7 days a week. That’s simply not true. You can if you work for yourself, no one gives a shit. But your employer can’t force you to work more than 5 days. Or you, being an employer can’t force anyone to do it.
English

@Erwin_AI I know you're not, I'm just speaking about many Americans on X pushing the narrative that we live under a new version of Nazism.
English

@Erwin_AI Americans need to stop seeing the EU like the Fourth Reich, the EU has improved our lives considerably although it is over-regulated yes and we need to fix this.
English

@Erwin_AI Europe (UK included) seems allergic to personal choice and responsibility.
Everything has to be regulation led and everyone has to do the same thing
English

@ihorvorotnov How do I conveniently ignore that?
I've never even implied that abusing or forcing others is fine.
English

@Erwin_AI You yourself absolutely can work 7 days a week. Even 24/7 if you want - no one cares. But you cannot abuse and force others to work 7 days a week. That’s the difference you conveniently ignore.
English

No one wants to work 7 days a week either. Trade unions have successfully strengthened workers’ rights. I am proud of that. I am not sure whether your opinion is legal. Implying that working 7 days a week is good could fall under suspicion of incitement to hatred. As a precaution, I will report you to the EU complaints office so that you should be placed on a watchlist.
