It's the only way. The second you start giving everybody else the spoils of your labor then they lose incentive to help any longer. This has been shown over and over throughout history. Even in modern times take California as an example. 35 billion spent on homelessness just to increase homelessness. 3 cities (yes actual cities) have went bankrupt, tons of businesses left and everything is insanely expensive. A low wage worker is still expected to pay 2200 a month in San Jose for a crappy studio apartment while making only $18 an hour. Its great in theory but that theory quickly breaks down when introduced with human nature

@EseTomFindlay @RdAtl81611 @Grand_Ole_Evan Exhibit 1: capitalism i.e. selfishness reduced global poverty
Exhibit 2: higher tax rates after a point results in lower tax revenue

English

@BillyRober55287 @Grand_Ole_Evan No it won’t. It will leave people to die in abject poverty. More and more of us until there is nothing left to exploit.
English

@EseTomFindlay @Grand_Ole_Evan Let the FREE MARKET regulate it, we will all do a better job than any government will.
English

@RdAtl81611 @paultiseo @Grand_Ole_Evan No, I just don’t think that “me-first” short termism is the best way to provide a society for all. It’s the opposite of selfish.
English

@EseTomFindlay @paultiseo @Grand_Ole_Evan Or because they are getting wiser and learning how the world actually works more each day. Your brain isn’t even fully developed until you’re 25. I mean is your point that you shouldn’t work to help build society or raise children? Seems kinda selfish don’t ya think?
English

@Maga4liberty Well for starters I don’t hate America. In fact I seem to hold the Constitution in far higher regard than the President does.
English

The opposition to President Trump goes beyond simple policy disagreements—it runs deeper. We saw a different kind of criticism during the Barack Obama years: not blind hostility, but real concern that America’s leadership was too willing to downplay our strength and apologize on the world stage.
There’s a clear contrast. Conservatives challenged Obama because they believed his approach prioritized globalism and progressive ideals over American power and sovereignty. In Trump’s case, the backlash isn’t about neglecting the country—it’s largely because he puts America first without hesitation.
That’s where the divide truly lies. One side is motivated by a strong belief in American greatness. The other increasingly seems uncomfortable with the idea of American exceptionalism itself.

@NeilBur90654435 @EseTomFindlay Nobody on the right freaked over Obama being black. Nobody cares what his skin color was. We just didn't like that he's a socialist. What evidence do you have that anyone on the right criticized obama for his skin color? I'll wait.....

@WatchReform @LeeAndersonMP_ Excellent, I’m glad to see they’ve finally fixed that flaw! Thanks for the heads up. The point remains though which is that ChatGPT is not a source of intelligence. It’s an LLM, not AI.

@EseTomFindlay @RdAtl81611 @Grand_Ole_Evan Reminder that your understanding of libertarianism is a caricature.
Selfishness improves life for everyone long term, actually.
English

@therealmrbench She’s right except for one thing - she said “less than 1%” when talking about Covid but what she meant was “less than 1 percentage point”.
English

@RdAtl81611 @Grand_Ole_Evan *Libertarian by 35. "We" hold economic & philosophical dominance over brain dead nativist protectionists on the right.
English

@RdAtl81611 @paultiseo @Grand_Ole_Evan Yes because they become more selfish and have less time in their lives to be politically active while working themselves to an early grave and raising a family.
English

@paultiseo @Grand_Ole_Evan It's common knowledge that people generally become more conservative as they get older. That has statistically always been the case
English

@RdAtl81611 @dg2drunk @Grand_Ole_Evan 11 followers in 6 years kinda goes against the idea that they’re just saying nice things to fit in, right?
English

@dg2drunk @Grand_Ole_Evan Ah, another VPN account with 11 followers amassed over 6 years. You guys really are sending your best

@RdAtl81611 @Grand_Ole_Evan If you’re not a liberal at 35 you have Dunning Kruger or no soul.
English

@Grand_Ole_Evan "If you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, if you're not a conservative by 35 you have no brain"
English

@BillyRober55287 @Grand_Ole_Evan Hypercapitalism with insufficient regulation IS evil. It is completely without humanity.
English

@Grand_Ole_Evan And it's so much fun to say that capitalism is evil. It definitely beats picking up an economics book and reading it.
English

@Grand_Ole_Evan You literally have it 180°. It’s easier to be simplistic and claim that everything is easy and common sense. Because “how do we pay for this?” is not a tough question. The tough question is, “why does the richest country have some of the poorest people? Are we being lied to?”
English

@Thevictoria76 What good has he done? Can you be specific?
I thought most Americans cared about the Constitution?
English

@jessisajew The only person here criticising a Jewish person based on their Judaism is you, Jess.
English

@grazer2003 @LeeAndersonMP_ Unlike the fossil fuel companies who famously have always struggled to turn a profit, and have never ever spent billions of dollars on lobbying politicians.
English

@LeeAndersonMP_ All global warming nonsense& many new green companies on the back of mad Milliband will be making a considerable amount of money.Maybe interesting to note in the future which company or company's mad Milliband joins? perhaps become a well paid director or advisor?Watch this space

@LeeAndersonMP_ Lee, I live in Ashfield. In one day last week the temperature ranged from 2°C to 15°C and we had snow, rain, and bright sunshine. This is what climate change brings - weather that is less predictable and more extreme.
