I’m sat in my first Essex County Council meeting on Monday morning, listening to a councillor induction presentation. ‘Any questions?’ asks an officer. A hand goes up. ‘Yes’ says a recently elected Labour member. ‘Do I get a pension as a councillor?’. His first question was about how much money he gets. Not procedure, or meeting dates or where the loos are… but how much cash he can grab. Same old Labour.

Reform UK's new Deputy Leader on @Essex_CC @russellquirk has only been in the job 5 minutes and he's already told a whopping lie. He's posted this on Facebook. The problem is, the only Labour councillor on that council wasn't at the meeting, and they've been elected since 2017, so they would already know the answer to this question. No wonder he has answers turned off.

Restore trying to contest a by-election this early on is an absolutely terrible idea. They will get crushed and lose major support. Just don’t do it, you have three years to build up a reputation, not waste effort and strength contesting unwinnable elections. Restore won’t win a place like Wigan this early on. Restore is polling at a 5% chance. The normies will just go Reform. They smashed GY because it’s Rupert’s constituency, however, they need more time and local elections to prove they can be a force; not throw away credibility standing in an election they won’t win. This is all around a retarded idea. Even if they would gain that 5% of votes and take it from reform, letting Burnham into parliament and potentially power will only help the Uni-party. Burnham IS the definition of the uni-party. It will destroy everything we have sought to burn down. If you like it or not, Burnham is extremely popular with the general public. I live in Manchester, most people that I know vote for him, it doesn’t matter where they sit politically, he is just liked.
