If you came to America and said this in the correct context (as a farewell), everyone would know what you mean, and many would respond with “After while, crocodile”. If anything, it’s only odd bc it’s not a thing “the kids” say, and it might make you sound like a grandparent.

@Ruesavatar This reminds me of when Jeffrey Star was popular and putting out makeup. Middle class women were falling all over themselves to get his stuff, meanwhile everything had these obscene sexual overtones that they just completely missed . And I’m just wondering if I’m the crazy one?!

It is interesting to discover how wildly naive many middle class people are. I probably would have remained in that flock if not for two things- a brother who was pursuing law enforcement and was so deeply traumatized by things he encountered that he now homeschools his daughters, never lets anyone post their photos, and completely changed his career trajectory. And second, befriending a man whose father worked for the FBI specifically hunting child predators. He told me things I wish I could unknow. Y’all can pretend we live in a better world than we do and call me insane, but it doesn’t change reality.

@BlondeOfWar I’ve been told that they are never more than ten miles from the coast (assuming it’s not a transatlantic cruise). So the waves won’t be as bad as they are when truly out at sea.

I've never been on a cruise. The ocean is very large. I'm not sure if you've noticed. When I was a little girl, my granddad had a fishing boat and a place in the Florida Keys. We would go out almost every weekend and there was one in particular where we were caught in a pretty bad storm. I will never forget the waves. I was in the sleeping cabin with my mom and my cousin wearing our life vests and we were tossed around like little ragdolls. I know cruise ships and fishing boats are very different, but I've seen the videos of the giant ships being tossed around the giant waves. I don't think a cruise is in my future.

Lady in front of me at Trader Joe’s threw a fit bc they cut the tag off her mini tote bag. Cashier explained it’s to stop reselling. She kept going in on him. Me: Omg, did they cut the tag off your tote? Her: YES! Me: Makes sense. I used to make a killing reselling those.

There is nothing that will convince a large number of boomers to part with their wealth before they inevitably die. They will sit in a home built for a growing family right up until their estate is used for their care. If they’ve planned well it won’t all be used to roll them back and forth and change their bedding. Usually it is. Then they become eligible for Medicaid. Then the government pays to rolls them left and right and change their bedding. They will be given a finely tuned cocktail of cardiac meds, supplements, and blended up meals. This will ensure they need rolling and changing for years. The government will pay 40k a month for professionals to manage this. No one in the family knows their wishes well enough to feel morally correct in making them a DNR so when they do eventually die some poor bastard will have to initiate futile CPR. I am so concerned this may happen to me that I’ve devoted an entire chapter of my book to my last wishes. This book will be publicly available so no one is ever confused about what I wanted. If you have a healthy acceptance of your own demise feel free to steal my outline. It’ll ensure your last days involve pull tabs and booze instead of thickened liquids and statins like our Creator intended. Hold the vitamins I would like a ketamine infusion. Thank you. Roll me to church. Give me a gin and tonic. Put me in the baby cry it out room if I get too feisty. Never ever ever ever ever give me anything for it’s low sugar or fiber content. I want smoked fish or spicy bbq. If it kills me well that was God’s plan for my life. Bury me in box out back at the cabin. We own an excavator just dig a hole and put me in it. Wrap me up in my best tablecloth. See you on the flip side. Choked by a chunky potato salad side. Delicious.

@luinalaska $750K is obviously too low, but the brilliance of the estate tax isn't in raising revenue for the state but in incentivizing pre-death gifts to younger generations.

@abbythelibb_ @littleapostate Agreed. I was the one doing all the feedings because he was breastfed. But if my son was up just being fussy, my husband would get up with him and walk him until he was ready to sleep. This saved my sanity and gave him some great bonding time with his son.

This is a great attitude, but sleep deprivation combined with hormones can be awful in ways you can't anticipate. It's okay to ask for help especially in the first couple months when feedings are close. Usually my husband did one wake up a night in the early days. Even though his job is dangerous and important. Sometimes I was really struggling and needed to reach for moral support. It's amazing if you don't need help. But please be careful not to lock yourself into a place where you feel like you're doing something wrong/unfair if you ask. I have had many desperate moments in the nights.

My husband has offered to be up helping me but I don’t foresee myself utilizing that help bc it’s way more important that he sleeps well before he climbs on rooftops to pay the mortgage I have a job too, but it’s not dangerous, all consuming, nor does it pay our mortgage

I'm ngl before i had a baby i felt a bit awkward when i saw ppl breastfeeding in public. there was a lot i didn't understand now i gotta do it VERY often or else miss out on a lot of life over the next few months. i do it as discreetly as i can but i know it probably makes ppl slightly uncomfy. I've seen people awkwardly looking away once they notice, even whisper to their friends in a way where i'm p sure it's about me I do wish it were different out there but i've decided to just like... radically accept ppl's discomfort and not be salty about it whatsoever. I get it, it is kinda weird. the baby gotta be plugged into the boob a lot and i gotta live my life. let people feel a bit awkward. this is much better than any alternative

A gay liberal man who sells skincare said this to her because she said she is sad her husband is going to Iran. She didn’t say anything about her stance or Trump or anything. That’s where we are, men who serve this country are now so disrespected by the left they wish ☠️ on a husband and a father. I’ll post the video he commenting this on in the comments.

When I was in high school struggling with cystic acne and excess oil, the dermatologist recommended it in moderation. However, as a female who has grown up blonde, its important not to get the blond-to-tan ratio out of whack. Otherwise you start using bad grammar, get a gold-plated ankle bracelet, and get a hankering for Natty light....

@Susiehs @MrsCMFrancis I agree. When we lived in upstate New York, there wasn’t much sun in the winter. So I used a tanning bed during those months. Now, we’re in South Texas and I never use one.

@MrsCMFrancis My opinion is this-go outside if it’s sunny. If you live somewhere dreary, enjoy the tanning bed but don’t eat seed oils and get sunburned. No seed oils and gradual exposure without sunscreen is ideal

@TiffaniMarie483 When my son was little, he was like this. He wore undies during the day and pull ups at night. But when he had to poo, he would go get a pull up and put that on and then go. Then tell us so we could clean him up. I finally had to just get rid of the pull ups entirely. (1/2)

I’m afraid to post about this given the recent discourse on potty training, but I need help. My five yo won’t poop in the potty. He’s been going pee in the toilet for years, but no matter what refuses to go number two. We’ve tried reward systems, schedules, talking about it, not talking about it, and more. We haven’t tried punishment. He doesn’t have accidents out of the house. He waits until he’s home and hides under a table. It’s embarrassing, but I’m at my wits end with this one. Please, any and all advice welcome.
