“This government backs small businesses.” Pull the other one. Small businesses are being absolutely hammered from every direction under this government. Energy bills through the roof, employers NI hikes, endless red tape, rising costs, falling consumer confidence, just to list a few. Thousands of business owners are lying awake at night wondering how they are going to pay wages, rent, suppliers and tax bills while this tosser poses for photo opportunities pretending to be business friendly. Businesses are making redundancies. Others are cutting staff hours. Many are simply shutting their doors altogether after years of hard work because they cannot survive the constant financial pressure being piled onto them. Most small business owners don’t want gimmicks or staged coffee shop spin. No-one in government actually understands what it’s like to run a business. This government doesn’t “back” small businesses. It’s bleeding them dry.

I’m an immigrant who’s lived and worked in the UK for 16 years. I have a North American accent and I’m white. I’ve never once been told to ‘go back’ to my ‘shithole country’ or to ‘stop stealing jobs from British people’. You’re not concerned about immigration. You’re racist.
