Trading the 13th pick for a player like Kyle Kuzma makes sense because the odds of drafting a player at 13 that becomes as good or better than Kuzma is pretty low. Yes there have been good players at 13 in recent years, but for every Devin Booker there is a Georgios Papagiannis.

Next up on the trade wish list: Isaiah Stewart Beef Stew expanding his range with a career high 38.3% from 3 last year would be a very intriguing fit for the Kings as a 4/5 combo option. He's young, has a huge wingspan, and is under contract for 4 more years

Point Reyes and I have history going back to February 2001. It was then at a Winter Running Camp (which featured future Olympic Trials Qualifiers & D2/D1 Runners!) - I was left behind by all the talented runners. Not to mention, I had gotten blazed out of my mind (!!!) right before the run with these older, Community College guys. (Why in the world were we smoking at a running camp?! 🤦‍♂️) In my “dazed & confused” state - not only was I the worst runner of the group - and now in “cognitive decline” - but I had gotten lost! (In many ways!) Panicking & of course, “paranoid” 😂 I scoured every trail & intersection on Mt. Wittenberg Only to become further & further lost. Not realizing it at the time - it was a metaphor for how my life was unfolding. So much desire for life to make sense, but little to show for it & no real sense of direction. It was at this intersection where my life would literally & metaphorically take a turn I didn’t expect. As I headed down another trail (having been lost for hours now) - my legs seized up and I fell to the ground. God was the furthest thing from my mind, but it was an experience where I realized “Oh my goodness he’s REAL!” and “he doesn’t want me to go this way!” Almost as if a “repentance” had taken place (a literal doing of a 180 & heading the opposite direction) I headed down the mountain - in a “Moses-like state” (minus the tablets 😉) & found the group who was worried for me, but relieved. What ensued was a series of 3 steps forward & 2 steps back in life - in a cyclical fashion - but that moment experiencing God’s presence - deep in my sin & shame - awakened something within me Like a small light that had come on that God wanted to continue to make brighter & brighter in spite of my countless failed attempts to “figure out my life” It would be in 2004 that I finally submitted my life to Him - tired of running from him & “picking the wrong trails” - getting lost & trying to find my way back. Running this trail today & seeing this intersection - it brings unfathomable Joy to see He had a plan. He met me in my sin & showed me Love. 23yrs later I’ve learned - through more & more trials & failures - to trust His guidance. While I may still think I know the right trail to take - I’m continually learning to pause, take out the map, & see where He’s leading. Knowing he still has that same Heart of a Good Father who is looking out for his prodigal son.
