Presenting the March edition of charging infrastructure by @ExpWithEVs ! India's public EV charging infrastructure added around 1100 fast chargers in Jan - Mar quarter including the government and private CPOs. India sits at around 27,000 fast and slow connectors as of March 2026. Over the FY25-26, the first two quarters saw a faster growth in addition of chargers around the country. The South zone has decisively overtaken the West zone in charging infrastructure and now leads by a healthy margin. Maharashtra still holds the crown for most number of chargers in the state. While the entire industry is growing, why is @IndianOilcl taking a step back? Read our interactive report (link in bio). Help and support our work by becoming a paying member. This article is free!

Don't let anyone tell you that EV highway trips are not possible. They are, and are getting easier and better every day. Link to all the road trip data in the next post!

@kushanmitra Yeah but you were making a point about the automotive influencer’s society being worried about ‘high load’ charging for e2W.

@ExpWithEVs You’ll be surprised in how many homes small-town India or even in unregulated urban colonies can’t support this load

An electric two wheeler consumes equivalent of an air conditioner’s load. If we are saying that houses don’t have good enough wiring for AC load, then we have a much bigger problem at our hands than EV charging. @kushanmitra

Followed this thread. I live in South Delhi too, in a rented flat, without home charging. Yes, no RWAs here have working public slow charging. I have to rely on going to a nearby mall to charge my car, or a MLCP (new discovery) near my home. The concept of having chargers at metro stations is lovely, but relying on them is shooting yourself in the foot. The chargers are always ICEd. The ones in public markets like GK2, GK1 etc never work either, thus also ICEd. People have to rely on public charging especially when they live in a rented flat or if someone is visiting from outside.

Again. Knowing a large number of these chargers personally. These are 3kw and 7kw chargers at the max and absolutely useless for a car which will need to stay there for hrs for any useful charging. They are occupied by auto rikshaws, goods carriers and scooters mostly like they should be. I live inside this map and there are twenty five dots around me. But there are only 4 high speed DC charger locations ( 3 out of them functional at any time ) in that. Public EV charging ecosystem for cars is NOT enough or even barely there to start being appealing to the guy who does not have home charging. I have home charging. I obviously love the EV life.

@DAKSHGarhwali For charging infrastructure and EV-related updates, you can follow @ExpWithEVs The AC aspect is commonality between all cars, not subject to EV. You don't have to do anything with the battery. It will stay with the vehicles

A petrol/diesel/CNG car has ~2,000 moving parts and loses ~65–75% of fuel energy as heat, contributing urban heat islands through engine and exhaust waste heat, while an EV (including buses & trucks) has ~20 moving parts and loses only ~10–20% as heat. ZEV mandates are key to reducing direct heating at street level and air pollution caused by transport, helping build more climate-resilient cities. @narendramodi @gupta_rekha #DelhiEVPolicy2.0 @CMOfficeUP @RajCMO @cmohry @TheICCT_India @ITDP_HQ @c40cities @WRIIndia @Bharati09 @richisunak @Warriormomsin @CSEINDIA

Did a quick dip test to find out most of these chargers are for e2W and e3W Don’t go by the numbers being promoted by the government. Do your own due diligence! youtube.com/watch?v=PoHnHn…

FYI, Map of Public EV chargers in Delhi. If you own an EV, you know that 99% of the time, charging happens at home, but still, we see EVCIs deployed across Delhi in the majority places ev.delhi.gov.in/charging_stati…

@ExpWithEVs @Tataev Agree. I’ve seen 7–8 similar cases with the same pattern — no commitment, no RCA, only delays and harassment. This is clearly a systemic issue now, not isolated. @Tataev needs to fix this urgently.
