We've focused on the scandals surrounding Kristi Noem, Corey Lewandowski and others, but career employees and political appointees (who are not Noem loyalists) have expressed deep disappointment over how much progress was lost and damage done. The public can see this from the outside, but the full extent is only known by those on the inside. In conversations this past week, there's been a sense of grieving for what should have been. 🚨EXCLUSIVE🚨 After 5 Dallas police officers were brutally murdered in 2015, John Cornyn’s office FAILED to get The Back the Blue Act passed. The bill would have made it a federal crime to intentionally target, kill, or attempt to kill a state law-enforcement officer because of their status. Allowed life imprisonment or the death penalty in federal cases involving the murder of a law-enforcement officer. It also would have established mandatory minimum prison sentences for assaulting or attempting to kill an officer. @LaboscoSonya attempted to work with Cornyn on the legislation, but they FAILED. Sonya LaBosco joins me tomorrow on The American Journal to details her experience with Cornyn’s office.
