Canine helpers in the courtroom! Meet JuneBug & Berdie. These two adorable therapy dogs help reduce stress/anxiety of witnesses going through court proceedings in the Northern District of Illinois (and brighten the day of lawyers and judges around them). @FedBarChicago

Historic moment! Landmark legislation introduced today by @RepZoeLofgren @JerryNadler @RepHankJohnson to reform the US immigration court system. Proud of the work of the FBA in helping develop this landmark legislation and its steadfast commitment to improving access to justice.
Federal Bar Association@federalbar

@RepZoeLofgren and her colleagues @JerryNadler @RepHankJohnson introduced a bill today that would facilitate a solution to separate the politics of immigration enforcement from the needs of immigration adjudication. Read press release here fedbar.org/government-rel… @FBApresident

First 2022 Board meeting. We were supposed to meet in Puerto Rico, but pivoted to a remote meeting at the latest minute. Much better view don’t you think? 😂 We got a lot business accomplished — looking forward to a great year! Love my colleagues on this board @federalbar

Congratulations to the new officers of the FBA N.D. California Chapter! Oath of office administered by Chief Judge Richard Seeborg. Loved the Chief’s remarks on the strong relationship between the Chapter and the bench in the Northern District #fedbar

Not only does the FBA support an independent Article I Immigration Court, but we’ve laid out the framework of how this can be done. Nice highlight of the FBA’s proposed legislation in Law 360.

In responding to a question from Tiffany, Elizabeth J. Stevens, an attorney at Poarch Thompson Law testifying on behalf of the Federal Bar Association, said that new cases are just one of many reasons for the backlog. Read more at: law360.com/articles/14567…

The FBA supports establishing an independent Article I Immigration Court similar to the U.S Tax Court. Thank you to FBA members Judge Mimi Tsankov and Elizabeth Stevens for testifying before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on this important topic. @ZoeLofgren
