❗️I held a working meeting with Russian human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova, as well as with the Heads of the International Committee of the Red Cross missions in Ukraine and Russia. Key results: 📌2,000 parcels of humanitarian aid for Ukrainian prisoners of war, along with letters from their families, were delivered; 📌agreements were reached on the verification of persons missing under special circumstances, and relevant lists were handed over; 📌lists of a separate category of citizens, namely the seriously wounded and seriously ill, were handed over; 📌the issue of returning illegally detained Ukrainian civilians was discussed, and lists were handed over; 📌the issue of Ukrainian prisoners of war convicted in the Russian Federation was discussed, and a list was handed over; 📌a number of other humanitarian issues were discussed. Additionally, based on previous systematic work, a procedure for the mutual reunification of families was carried out. Fifteen of our citizens, most of whom have reduced mobility, returned to Ukraine from the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied territories. For example, we ensured the return of a 56-year-old woman who had suffered a stroke and has reduced mobility. She had been forced to stay in Russia since 2022. Her daughter appealed to the Ombudsman’s Office for assistance with her return. Today, mother and daughter are seeing each other for the first time in almost four years. ❗️Additionally, 45 more Ukrainian citizens have been returned to Ukraine; these were individuals who had been held in temporary detention centres for foreigners in the Russian Federation. We are committed to bringing all Ukrainians home.
