@ggreenwald What proportion of those 87 casualties were civilians and what proportion were Hezbollah fighters who have been waging war on Israel? Any reasonable person would need to know the answer to this question before making a comment like yours

The number of these casualties in Lebanon will increase significantly. But even if this causality number were the final toll -- and again, it will increase a lot -- this would be the equivalent of six 9/11 attacks for a country of Lebanon's size.

Yes, the world -- outside of MAGA and Israel -- knows that the US and Israel are not winning this war right now.
For that reason, they can't stop now. The damage of such a defeat would be generational.
The huge risk is that the US/Israel escalate out of desperation and panic.
