Since 1973, @FSUClassics and @FSUIP have led the excavations at Cetamura del Chianti — an archaeological site that has, uniquely, been home to ancient Etruscans, Romans, and Italians of the Middle Ages.
Recently, @FSUClassics' Nancy de Grummond (top right) — who's served as the site's director since 1983 — was part of a research team that sequenced the DNA of 2,000-year-old grape seeds, mapping the most extensive genetic history of ancient grapevines recovered from a single archaeological site.
