Automated code review is just one step. Building software autonomously requires the full loop of planning, implementation, testing, and deployment, with verification at every step. Factory is building this complete system. Droid already optimizes AI code review for the best quality-cost tradeoff. Try it yourself: Run /install-code-review in Droid to configure PR reviews in GitHub or GitLab. /review is also available as a standalone skill.

Which model reviews code best? We benchmarked 13 models on AI code review across real PRs and the results are surprising. Spending more tokens did not result in better code review. A $1.25/PR model beat another that was more than 2x the cost. Meanwhile, budget models at $0.15/PR delivered ~80% of the quality of frontier models while being 10-30x cheaper. In fact, cost only explained ~21% of the difference in code review quality.

Automated QA is just one part of how Droids automate the entire software development lifecycle, from writing code to review to testing to deploy. To try it today: Run /install-qa in any Droid session. This analyzes your codebase, asks about your environments and critical flows, and then generates a QA skill tailored to your project. After this setup, run /qa to test.

The tests passed and the linters were green, yet the login form still broke in production. Why? Because nobody actually clicked through it. Today, we are launching Automated QA in Droids to fix this.

As someone with several mac minis, mac studios, having a persistent agent across my devices has been a pain. I literally resorted to just never letting my laptop sleep, which would get crazy hot in my bag. Cloud agents with cloud computers are clearly a better solution.
Factory@FactoryAI

Today we're opening access to Droid Computers: persistent machines for remotely orchestrating Droids. Spin one up in Factory's cloud or turn your machine into a Droid Computer. Either way, Droids have a dev environment with its own filesystem, credentials, and configurations.

In our early testing, we have seen that GPT-5.5 performs well as a new daily driver. It is better at end-to-end execution, stronger on everyday tasks, and more likely to finish multi-step work. It's also fast while delivering high-quality results.

It was a pleasure hosting Sequoia's newest associate, @dougleone at Factory HQ. He's green, but he's relentless and eager to spread Droids to the world's most cutting-edge engineering teams. Promising early signs and lots of upside if he sticks with it. Great hire @sequoia!

This is the game-changer for Droid. I ended up with early access, and can confirm, there’s nothing else like it, period. Turning your computer into a Droid Computer is wild. And I don’t think you’ll fully appreciate it until you try it.

The CTO of a $1.5B agent-native software company says we're moving towards a world where the entire team builds the product engineering system that powers your product instead of directly working on the product. They will modify the agents and the constitution of the agents to help them prioritize tasks per @EnoReyes. They will also modify the review system so that it reviews more accurately. It will be akin to a dark factory where the lights are off because it's all robots with no humans inside. In that world, there will be way more things for humans to be involved in because the debates around prioritization/product will be harder and require stronger judgment.

Other cloud agent products have taken bets on ephemeral sandboxes. Why are we breaking the mold with Droid Computers? For short, one-off tasks in simple environments, ephemeral sandboxes work well enough. But to move to the rest of the SDLC beyond coding, agents must complete more complex software engineering workflows that are inherently stateful, so their environments must be as well.

Run Droids anywhere, anytime. Kick off work from your phone. Queue tasks overnight. Build always-on agents that triage alerts and run deep research in the background. And since every session builds on the last, Droids get smarter the more they work.
