@FenixAmmunition I have a German turbo diesel.
If it’s leaking, it’s got oil.

@CarlsonJustin @owroot Exactly. Better put sunglasses on, it’s bright. Never mind now it’s too dark, better take them off. Repeat all day.

This is a kind of dreadfully common Northern Michigan ugly-winter sky. There are no clouds and when you look up it is a very ugly yellow gray, if that color is possible. Yes, it is. This is it. There are no shadows cast because there is no sunlight that breaks through. The ground is a dull white from half melted snow. The light is actually sickening. Really. It makes you ill. Even when you are indoors the way the light falls through the windows and onto your floors is depressing. It makes the inside of your house look uglier. Your rooms look terrible, the floors and your tables are awful. Everything that is a little wrong is blown up bigger. Any of the mess looks worse and more depressing, it makes you more irritated. It's not until the sun comes out that you realize everything isn't awful and that your house isn't a total ramshackle shack. This sky is nature's equivalent of a bare fluorescent bulb on concrete.
It's very bad for you.
I have tried to take hyper-realistic photos this winter and this might be one of the most realistic, and most depressing for that reason.

Charlevoix is a good town. I drive through it often. They really crammed all the shops and restaurants on basically one street which creates a very cool downtown that always feels bustling in a small town kind of way. The bridge is kind of a crazy pain in the summer. Boats always coming in and out from the big lake. Very easy to get stuck when bridge is going up. Can add some serious time. Oddly a lot of traffic downtown. You can take the ferry to Beaver Island from Charlevoix which I have done and is very cool.
Like all little towns on Lake Michigan, Charlevoix is a beautiful little town.

Charlevoix, Michigan feels like a storybook harbor town where sailboats drift through Round Lake and whimsical stone “mushroom houses” rise from the streets like something out of a fairy tale.

@farmingandJesus This tweet is bananas.
No. I’m not going to spell it.

@autocorrect2_0 Most people aren’t humble enough to consider that they might be wrong about something. Makes friendly debates difficult.

@MiStormChasers Well, I think I’ll just go make sure my generator is in good working order.

Along with significant snowfall, comes the chance of significant ice accretion. We’ve seen a bit of a northward shift over the last 24 hours which has taken higher accretion amounts and shifted them. We still expect a corridor of 0.50” or more across Cheboygan, Boyne City, Gaylord, and Rogers City regions. The further south you go, the less ice accretion becomes.
Within the 0.25” and 0.50” zones, we expect multiple power outages along with scattered tree damage as a result of the weight of the ice and gusty winds combining. These outages may be multi-day outages, and those in these two zones should take necessary precautionary actions to ensure you are ready.
Outside of the heaviest ice accretion, near impossible travel should be expected due to icing and heavy snow that may blow around.
Speaking of blowing around, winds will be gusting between 40-50mph across northern lower Michigan on both Sunday and Monday. This will aide in further worsening of tree damage and power outages.
The WORST of the freezing rain occurs Sunday evening and continues into Monday morning. We expect Monday to be the worst of the event for the icing area.
Please see our previous forecast for snowfall information, and please reference our wind map set to be posted around 7:30pm which focuses on Sunday.

@maziehirono Really? So I’ll have to wait at the voting booth for a federal background check before voting? Not sure that is accurate, but I expect lies from you.

@ShannonTaylorVA I wonder if *perhaps* not letting known terrorists walk our streets could reduce violence.

My heart is with the Old Dominion community today. No student should fear for their safety on campus, and no Virginian should feel unsafe in their own community. We must confront the reality of gun violence and work together to ensure our schools and neighborhoods are places of safety, not fear.

If someone told me what I am about to tell you a year ago, I would have called it a fairytale.
I went to church this morning with my friend Joe. He had invited me months ago and I called him last night to ask if Holly and I could attend with him today. He said he would be honored. He said Bible Study was at 10 and service was at 11 and he sent me the address to Victory Baptist Church in Bristol.
When we arrived this morning, we were greeted by so many people and everyone was asking if we were "Joe's friends". We felt welcomed immediately.
They led us to the Bible Study group and the leader said, "We have studying Psalms". The same Psalms that led me through the doors of a church for the first time in nearly 3 decades, a week ago.
I felt that was a sign I was in the right place.
Through the rest of the service, I felt like it was time. Time to commit. Time to turn my life over to him. But when the alter call came, I couldn't go. I just didn't feel worthy, as I have wrestled with for forever. All those people. So pretty and neat. So I didn't go.
After the service, Joe asked me to speak with his Pastor, who wanted to thank us for coming, and I said I was happy to meet him.
And then it happened. He thanked me for coming and he asked if I knew that Jesus died for my sins. I responded that I have been working on understanding, and then he shook me to my core.
You see, I know 1 verse from the Bible by heart. Only 1. I remembered it from my youth because of a song.
Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." That's it. That's the 1 verse I know. I know what others say, but I can't quote it. I don't know where it is at. But I know that one.
His next words to me? He asked me if I knew Romans and he recited that verse. The only verse I knew by heart, word for word.
That was my proof. That was my evidence that today was the day.
I stopped him mid verse as I broke down in tears and asked him to pray with me and he led me to the Alter with Joe and several others that I'm not yet sure of their name.
Today, I confessed with my mouth, the Lord Jesus.... and I came up a saved man.
Today was the day. Today. It happened.
I have no idea what to do next or where it goes.... but today, I can say that thank God, I am not where I once was..... but I am NOW where I am.
To everyone that has worked on me for years now. Thank you. Thank you for not giving up even when my words were hateful. I didn't know what I didn't know. I still don't, honestly....
But I am not that man today.
Today was a great day.
