Mr. President, completely agree about having a lot of fun over these next seven months.  But nitpicking? Some of your advisors are telling you to support things like:     - Using billions of taxpayer dollars to compensate convicted felons and thugs who attacked police. (Ed Martin)    - Pushing 50-year mortgages and Elizabeth Warren's housing bill over sound conservative housing policy. (Bill Pulte)    - Using taxpayer money to transform publicly traded companies into state-owned enterprises. (Howard Lutnick)    - Firing our very best generals and not holding Putin accountable for his systematic kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of Ukrainian civilians. (Pete Hegseth)  If opposing these things makes me a RINO, then I gladly accept that nickname.  We need Republicans to do well in November, but the stupid stuff is killing our chances!

@scottlincicome My in laws opened an additional candy plant in Guatemala just to buy sugar at the world spot price. 120 jobs that we’d just as soon have in America if we didn’t have to compete against foreign manufacturers buying at the spot price.

Trade deficits aren’t subsidies. And the trade deficit with Canada is about $46 billion, not $200 billion. We will never have parity with Canada because it’s a low population country with things we need. They can’t match our consumerism.
Bitcoin Teddy@Bitcoin_Teddy

Trump: “I love Canada … But the United States can't subsidize a country for $200 billion a year … You have to run your own country. And to be honest with you, Canada only works as a state … I'm sorry, we have to do this.”

@BonkDaCarnivore Sadly, Texas is open primary/no registration and Ten Commandments has a good chance of winning. As a guy whose family hosted the Angelina County GOP out of their garage in the 60s/70s, it’s depressing AF seeing what they’ve turned it into. But they can have this dumpster fire.

Here's the rub: The solution to this MAGA takeover of the GOP is to completely do away with closed primaries, and let non-affiliated voters vote in those, as well. This would end the MAGA cancer real fast - because you're only seeing this problem in states with closed primaries. I think one of the reasons MAGA is winning the primaries with such ease is that there are SO MANY of us (yes, myself included) who have changed our affiliation from Republican to independent that there's not even resistance anymore. Massie isn't losing to a Team Kid Diddler guy in an open primary. Which is a long way of saying the GOP is probably just screwed and will become a fringe minority party in our lifetimes, replaced by something with standards.
Midwest Conservative@MidwestCon7

@BonkDaCarnivore I would like to see quite a few Republicans switch to independent, as this brand of conservatism... isn't.

US President Ronald Reagan was shown "WarGames" (1983) at Camp David the weekend it was released. He loved the movie but it also freaked him out. A few days later, at a White House meeting that included the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Reagan asked, “Could something like this really happen? Could someone break into our most sensitive computers?” The answer came back a week later: “Mr. President, the problem is much worse than you think.” That led not only to a significant revamp of how computer security was handled at the Defense Department, but also passage of an anti-hacking law that would eventually evolve into US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 1986. Clips of "WarGames" (1983) were shown during the congressional hearings where lawmakers debated the need for hacking legislation. ("How Sci-Fi Like ‘WarGames’ Led to Real Policy During the Reagan Administration", Kevin Bankston, New America, 2018) P.S: On this day, 43 years ago, John Badham's "WarGames" (1983) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, France.

@data_republican Some of us grew up with Republicans lambasting Clinton for his morals and we still believe in having morals. If a man is gonna break the most important promise they make in front of God and family, he’s gonna break promises to you. Plus, we don’t like Epstein deals to rapists

If Paxton wins, why would anyone be upset enough to vote for Talarico? That's what Cornyn supporters are saying. That's just dumb, and I hope it's not true. I could never be angry enough to vote for a Democrat.
