@HipTake @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli It's literally on Carole's LinkedIn. Didn't mention Ron because of his death, but he and Mike were listed as stake holders at the time. But even if it was just on paper, the effort was made to meet bare minimum requirements. Dundon's family isn't even attached on paper.

@FangMagna @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli There is no evidence Carole worked for Ilitch holdings in any capacity, Mike being an “investor” with his father’s money is certainly a stretch and you just ignored Ron (RIP). I’ll give you Lisa, I think you are right about that, so like I said 3-4 are just there by association

@HipTake @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli Lisa ran public outreach for Ilitch Holdings, and oversaw youth hockey programs for the Wings. Carole was a lawyer for Ilitch Holdings and was part of legal for both the Tigers and Wings. Mike was an investor in the team (a stretch, but more than Dundon's kids).

@FangMagna @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli ????? It isn’t a lie about the Ilitch’s. Mike Ilitch jr was a movie producer, Lisa and Carole Ilitch certainly didn’t work for the team and I can’t find any proof that Ron did either (RIP). Also what statements have the Hall of Fame made besides what Phil Pritchard said?

@CarolinaGX7X @nviebs15 They aren't. The March 12th sale confirmed that the only Dundon in ownership was Tom Dundon. The board of governors didn't approve a sale or ownership transfer for the Hurricanes between then and the SCF. Meaning at best, the family is a post hoc addition, and don't count.

I have to say, if my name was left off the Stanley Cup in favor of grade schoolers, I’d be organizing my exit from the franchise immediately.

@joelthesakic Reminds me of the Cowboys fans who used to defend everything Jerry Jones did because of the 3 Superbowl wins in the 90s. When the winning stops, and his decisions with the Canes look more like his moves with the Blazers, Carolina fans will be begging the league to kick him out.

The Hurricanes fans defending Tom Dundon for putting his entire family on the Stanley Cup instead of a few players or folks in management that were actually deserving is so unbelievably strange. Like you're defending a billionaire for being selfish and entitled???

@HipTake @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli That's just a blatant lie about the Ilitchs. Beyond that, the March 12 minority owner sale only listed Tom as an owner, none of his family. No approved sale or stake transfer occurred between then and the SCF. The HHOF statements have increased the chances the names get x'ed out.

@FangMagna @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli At least 3-4 of the Ilitch’s were “minority owners” which just means they did nothing in the organization and were given minority stakes just by the fact their father owned the team. It is the same exact thing other than the fact they were adults

@HipTake @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli Take your own advice and look into those names. The Ilitch family were all adults during that win, and all successful business magnates with real positions within the Red Wings ownership. Same thing with the Violas. A kindergartner holds no team position or ownership stake.

@FangMagna @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli I want you to take 5 min and go look up the engravings for all the Red Wings Cups after the Illitch family became owners. Go look at the Panthers from the last two years. You (and everyone else) keeps citing the one example someone’s name got etched out.

@IronCaniac @OneTrueZach @emanningwrites Can't find any records that list the entire family. Dundon is a guy who gets his way, so my guess is that he claimed to the Hall of Fame (who does the engraving) that his whole family is part of ownership. It may be true, or the NHL might have them struck from the cup later on.

@OneTrueZach @emanningwrites And apparently the team is jointly owned by the entire Dundon family? 🤔 We know from the Basil Pocklington name erasure that the NHL does not allow an owner’s family members’ name to be on the Cup if they’re not actually affiliated with the team.

We got the official names of the 2025-26 Carolina Hurricanes on the Stanley Cup. As predicted, Pyotr Kochetkov & Nic Deslauriers are on the cup. Kochetkov being dressed for Games 4 through 6 might have given him the technicality of making it on. Deslauriers as an exemption.

@HipTake @Werenski_ @frank_seravalli It's moreso that the precedent is that it's not allowed. The Oilers old owner tried to put his father on the cup and it got 'x'ed out. Considering that Tom Dundon is the only listed owner, and none of the other Dundons are, entirely possible the NHL crosses out their names.

@Werenski_ @frank_seravalli Yeah what a terrible husband and father. Getting his family’s name on the Stanley Cup? I can’t even believe he would do something like that. Some of yall are so fucking pathetic acting like you actually give a shit lol

@HkytownHang @jwt6577 His best friend who publicly stated that he nixed the trade because he didn't want to leave his current team? If this implied anything trade wise, it would imply the opposite of what you're hoping for.

@jwt6577 So out of all the pictures Larkin could’ve posted from the Team USA run, he posted one with a guy who happened to be involved in a failed trade attempt this week? Sure it could be a coincidence, but the timing is a little suspect.

@HabsWest Columbus is running a similar tactic, they only got $3m AAV worth of contracts in free agency so far. They're main priority is to get Fantilli on a long term deal.

@LO_BlueJackets I'm okay with it if it's low term and low AAV for a 6/7 defenseman role. Sounds like he leaning towards CBJ or retirement, and his leadership in the room will be good. But if they think he's going to be a 2nd pair guy and give him another 4x4, lessons clearly weren't learned.

@BlueJacketsNHL Haha so funny. Now you get to watch the whole season with the lingering thought in your head that Zach is all but gone. And that kind of thing leads to less ticket sales, leading to less revenue, and eventually, unfortunately, possible relocation. Buckle up CBJ

@KentStadulis @UrinatingTree The Marchenko stuff was reportedly tied to Werenski. What's been claimed is that Marchenko heard Werenski was going to be moved, and was worried the team was going to rebuild. He didn't want to go through that if it happened.

@nascarfanbw23 @domluszczyszyn The report is that Marchenko didn't want to extend if the team had to dump Werenski and rebuild. Even when the Werenski move seemed certain, Columbus still wasn't gonna move Marchenko because they were confident they would convince him it wasn't a rebuild.
