Fabbro is slated to start the year on the 3rd pair making north of 4m and has no protections of any kind

Sounds like Werenski, his agent Judd Moldaver, and CBJ GM Don Waddell spoke today in an effort to clear the air and calm things down. Werenski is comfortable going back to CBJ. Waddell could present him with a trade in the meantime, but that isn’t on the radar at this point.

This is really looking like a case where the national media strait up bullied Waddell into the thought that Werenski wants out; when really, he wouldn’t promise that he would re-sign unless there was real progress.

Following up on @reporterchris & @DarrenDreger… scuttlebutt tonight is Werenski rejected a trade to Dallas, in a deal that is believed to have included Harley. Tampa Bay remains engaged in talks here. Philly was in mix too, but seems like TB is Werenski’s top choice right now.

Sources say Zach Werenski was presented with a trade option to a team he's unwilling to waive his NMC for. His #CBJ situation seems to be devolving. Werenski never formally requested a trade, but has had honest talks about the future since April. Unclear where this goes next.
