@islebedarn @MaxVelocityWX I knew it was going to rise when I made that statement. Here in the Hill Country there are plenty of bridges that have water over them continuously (when we're not in drought) but this was not that.

This is 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero and his 3-year-old daughter who watched him get killed by ICE in cold-blood. He was a hardworking Colombian man who was in the U.S. legally to work in order to feed his precious daughter. She won’t ever see her dad again because of Trump’s ICE.

@ourx_vault @BrotherCounsel Kevin, isn't it sad? People swallowed the turtle "neck", media & defense "shenanigans" pre-/intra-/post trial that they'll never admit they were wrong about even the tinniest thing? Tells you all we need to know about 'em

I don't know the answer, but they were in the material that would have been released after the trial, right? All of that went into discovery. But yet again, instead of leaning towards sunlight being the best disinfectant, you are objecting to recordings both sides have because you suspect they will do damage to Karen. For example, we might learn more about her calls with the Feds. At the very least we're going to get a very different image of her than as she packages herself to her fans and the media. I talked extensively with the production team and Terry. She comes off so bad on camera that they had to work overtime to make the documentary seemed balanced. There's no crime in being an evil little...fill in the blank. But as she pretends to campaign of some kind of justice, keep it in mind.

I'm curious how the house defendants got the recordings between Karen Read and Terry Meurer.

I rarely post on social media. I could care less about followers, but I understand why that's important to some (no sarcasm). That said, hate Trump all you want but if you don't believe in putting Americans first in the USA you should be tried for treason.

@ourx_vault The vile FKRs ("vile", not "all", as you said) are just too damn much! I started to reply to some of the comments but decided instead to go for a hike. I can pick up & get rid of trash rather than argue with trash.

The last few years have challenged some positions I have held all of my life. All because of #karenread Things I have believed 1) don't demonize the other side It's a natural human tendency. Any time we homo sapiens split into camps, we tend to start seeing the side that disagrees with as evil. Liberals have always done it to conservatives, and conservatives, to a lesser degree, do it to liberals...though they more tend to see them as just wrong or naive. But it's still a natural thing for people to do this, and I have wanted to always remind myself of that in the Karen Read debate. I have wanted to resist any urge to characterize FKR believers in any way that dehumanizes them. It's a challenge. In the early months of this case exploding, as Karen used Turtle to pollute the jury pool by stirring up a mob, at first I leaned towards Karen being innocent. The videos I did made me very popular with FKR and Turtle Riders. I built a team around me on my channel and two co-hosts, but all of them were FKR, and most of them came for that reason. However, when I started asking both-sides kind of questions, they turned on me. Just for asking questions. While my co-hosts, Dave and Erin, remained firmly FKR, I tried to take a position of being perched on the fence and being objective and neutral. For that, the feeling built among FKR that I needed to be destroyed. They either claimed I was faking cancer or that I had brain tumors and couldn't think straight. They began the Turtle method of scouring my background in the desperate hopes of finding something they could use to destroy me. All because I was calmly asking both-sides kind of questions. For example, knowing the state had Jessica Hyde saying 2:27 never took place, I began questioning that. But no questions can be tolerated. Yet it turned out I was 100% correct to question it. At this point, no one with a normal brain believes in 2:27. The defense didn't even present an expert to argue for it in the second trial. I have had many FKR's eventually flip, and most of these turned out to be really good people. So I remind myself that there are certainly still good people over there. They just don't know all the relevant facts or haven't thought it through clearly. But it is a challenge not to form characterizations. FKR's, at least the ones that participate online, tend to be unusually cruel, invariably ignorant and utterly incapable of self awareness. Every day several of them call me a liar, but when challenged, they never...and I mean never...point out a single lie. See, if they hear something they don't lie, they immediately jump to "he's lying!"...but they actually have no reason to believe that, no contradictory evidence. They just don't like it, so it must be a lie. If I was in an argument with someone, and I called them a liar, but couldn't think of one thing they lied about, I'd be embarrassed. I'd know right away that my position was really weak that I had resorted to that. I'd be aqshamed that I'd lost the battle so easily by looking like a fool. But that's because I am self aware. Most of them seem to completely lack that self awareness. Nor do they engage in any self-reflection. If I was publicly accusing someone of murder, I would want to be damn sure I had convincing evidence. I'd be looking in the mirror every day and asking if what I was doing was right. Was it ethical. But FKR people don't seem to have that ability. 2) engage the other side respectfully...and if you have the stronger argument, most of them will come around. This has always been a belief too. But this case really challenges it. I present FKR with arguments that really amount to 2 + 2 = 4. But they are unmovable. It's not just frustrating because they are hard to move, but it's the way they dismiss the indisputable evidence without a reason. If I show you that OJ Simpson's blood was at the murder scene, and that the victim's blood was in his Ford Bronco and in his home, you can't just dismiss that and tell me Furman's a racist. You have to account for that evidence. So maybe you argue that the blood was planted by Furman. I ask you how the other cops didn't see that, and you say they were all in on it. I ask why, and you say because they are racist. Now, I won't agree with any of that, but at least you didn't just ignore the evidence. You knew how decisive that blood evidence was, you understood that the only way OJ could be innocent was for all that blood to have been planted, and you did your best to suggest how that could happen. But FKR doesn't do that. They just ignore the evidence they don't like. Skip over it. Close their eyes and block their ears. And then those very same people doing that will think of twelve different ways to call me a moron and a liar. Which goes back to the lack of self awareness, but it is stunning to watch...and there will be examples of it right here in the comments under this post. Like I said, completely without self-awareness. But I will continue to try to engage positively and continue to remember that there ARE good people within the horde. There must be.

@future__11 @BrianEntin No, you're not reading that correctly. We don't know that it was the FBI. We don't really know if it's even LEOs. It simply says "searchers"

New from FBI: The gloves found approximately 2 miles from the Guthrie residence in a field near the side of the road were packaged up by PCOS and sent overnight on 2/12 and they arrived at their private lab in Florida on 2/13. The FBI received preliminary results yesterday on 2/14 and are awaiting quality control and official confirmation today before putting unknown male profile into CoDIS, the national database unique to the bureau. This process typically takes 24 hours from when the bureau receives DNA. Investigators collected approximately 16 gloves in various areas near the house. Most of them were searchers’s gloves that they discarded in various areas when they searched the vicinity. The one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video. The FBI has and will continue to provide assistance on whatever timeline is provided to us.

Here we go again. The new Democrat shutdown — this time of the Dept. of Homeland Security — will hit some VERY important programs like FEMA disaster response, TSA security lines, and Coast Guard operations. That means delayed disaster aid, airport chaos, and weakened law enforcement. Democrats are once again risking public safety just to stage a pointless political stunt.

Our local jails are pre-trial facilities. That means that the people being held there have not yet been convicted of a crime. When ICE takes people away before they have been convicted of a crime, they are preventing victims and witnesses from their opportunity to seek justice.
