No late additions. So no surprises. Good note from the Braves media relations staff. Bryce Elder has totaled the most starts for the Braves since the start of 2023, but this is the first time he’s been on an Opening Day roster.

This may be the worst walk-off homer call in recent memory, however. Dude had no idea the game was over.

Duluth is a small town in Georgia? This is news to me.
Front Office Sports@FOS
North Carolina coach Courtney Banghart said she doesn't know where Duluth is. It's a small town in Georgia that can be over an hour’s drive north of Atlanta, depending on the traffic, and it's found its way into hosting the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament. By @_DavidRumsey ⬇️

@CJNitkowski @CrosbyBaseball I had labrum surgery and it didn’t really do me much good. Still bothers me to this day. It’s not a fun thing.
English

@CrosbyBaseball FWIW I never had surgery. At 36 that meant I was 100% done. Did stem cells (new at the time), PRP and any injection that could help. I pitched again in KBO, DR winter ball and the minor leagues over the next 3 years with diminished stuff. Surgery will help him significantly.

I had never seen this video, thanks to @DanielKimW for sending it to me. Then moment I tore my rotator cuff.
2009, I was 36yo, I hadn't been a regular starting pitcher since 2000 but was doing so in Korea. This is Game 1 of the first round of the postseason. Great crowd, great atmosphere, I has been throwing well for them and was sure to be back the next season. Things were good.
I tear my rotator on this 0-2 pitch (scorebug says 2-0 b/c they do counts backwards there, 2-3 is a full count).
I know I am hurt, I never had been before, but I knew. In the 1-2 count I am deep in thought on the mound, I was hesitant because I know what's coming, "This next pitch is going to hurt like hell. Just throw it down the middle and we'll see what happens." I get lucky, a strikeout, but I just tore my rotator cuff even worse and nearly fell over in pain.
Shockingly I tried to go back out for the 4th inning, I actually forgot about that part. Clearly I was done.
My shoulder still bugs me to this day. It is so strange when I watch this and write about it how I can feel the exact spot where it tore, nearly 17 years ago. The mind and body are so fascinating.

I tore my labrum and rotator cuff when playing in high school and somehow re-tore the labrum a few years later.
I cannot even throw a baseball anymore. It’s an underestimated injury.

The beginning of the end for Nick Castellanos’ time in Philadelphia came when he cracked open a Presidente beer and carried the green bottle into the Phillies dugout in the middle of a game in June.
Removed for defensive purposes, Castellanos directed his ire at Phillies coaches. The beer served as a prop. If not in the game, he was on vacation.
Two players who were not on the field tried to usher Castellanos out of sight before cameras could capture a player drinking a beer in an active dugout.
But something changed that night in Miami when, in the eyes of Castellanos’ teammates, a line had been crossed.
“You can’t disrespect the manager and talk to him the way he did,” one Phillies player said. “You can’t expect it all to be the same after that.”
