@searchbound Looking at those units for an ADU. Can you go 100% off grid? What’s that math look like?

continue to hack around with my power bill (to save $) by leveraging my Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra & Smart Home Panel. I orig bought the DPU as whole-home battery backup power (for hurricanes/outages), but discovered I could play the "on-grid / off-grid" game on a daily basis, and now I'm hooked. GA Power offers a residential rate plan (see pic) called 'Overnight Advantage' where rates fluctuate throughout the day, and dramatically drop overnight (when there's lower demand). So, essentially, I can program my SHP to jump off-grid when rates are high in summer afternoon ($0.303 per kWh) & power house through my DPU. Then at 7pm, I jump back on grid for $0.104 per kWh. At 11p-7a, my DPU re-charges at $0.023 per kWh (my car recharges as well). Next day, rinse/repeat. I finally have YOY #'s to compare (June). *Notice my consumption in 2026 is *more* than 2025, mainly cause I noticed the savings halfway through month, and decided to drop my A/C to 68°F (20°C) at night to sleep better (even though it'd pull more kWh but who cares when it's $0.023 per kWh) June 2026: $429.35; 2761 kWh consumed June 2025: $516.39; 2367 kWh consumed I saved almost $100 ! Playing around with this makes me wanna buy a cabin deep in the woods, entirely off-grid, and power through DPU, SHP, & Solar. this ain't an ad - just a sandbox I'm playing in and enjoying ⚡️

A new study by @NationalCorn found: -U.S. corn seed prices averaged 68% higher than Brazil’s -Insecticide prices averaged 87% higher -Some fungicides cost more than double what Brazilian farmers paid -Many herbicide comparisons also approached double Brazilian price levels For NCGA President Jed Bower, an Ohio farmer, the findings confirm concerns many growers have held for years: “It sure doesn’t look like we’re the low-cost producer anymore,” Bower says. “The study shows the American farmer is really paying for all the innovation and research for the rest of the world to take advantage of.” agweb.com/news/crops/cro…

@Farmertom7 @MaxROIFarmer This is legit. Went to a 2-day Corteva independent dealer training that was noticeably geared towards the spouse’s enjoyment. The organizers said it was a big reason why they kept long term dealers

If you were a good employee and the salary you were offered came with an offer to buy your mortgage on a new starter home build down ~2% for a 20-30 year fixed mortgage. Would that be a perk you’d utilize? Obviously it wouldn’t be a large or fancy home but the target would be the young guys that you’d hope to hire and retain. There would have to be some preconditions for eligibility. Maybe a satisfactory or better work record and a year or two of service. Does that make a meaningful impact in your opinion?

I just went under contract on our dream cattle ranch. Something that we plan to hold in our family for generations. I could not be more excited! Will post more updates as they come, and then all of the details after we close.

In your opinion, what is the minimum wage/yearly compensation required to work ~50 weeks a year, 50 hours/week with pto, largely outside, largely regardless of weather, minimal leadership responsibilities, some manual labor required? Something akin to farming/ranching but regular hours and enough to attract a “good” crew with no misfits?

Early in my career, I got swept up in the romance of massive TAMs and revolutionary tech. I paid for those mistakes with real capital. The #AgTech graveyard is full of brilliant founders who underestimated adoption friction and respected coding more than they respected biology. If you're allocating capital or building in this space, read this before you write the next check:  vantrumpreport.com/2026/06/01/why…

@steeke7 Could it open FieldView rainfall email notifications and convert them to Excel files for me? Without me having to do all that?

In the course of a few hours, openclaw optimized my Gmail and Outlook by creating labels, tags etc. Fully optimized, cleaned up and categorized all my Evernote notes, backed them in as md files internally for creating my knowledge base, and built a few corn jobs giving me daily briefs on my calendar, emails, etc.

Merrick County Neb sand. Left side corn is planted and rye cover will be terminated at 2 leaf. Right side cover was sprayed two weeks before corn planting. Your option, what side will be better? @PioneerSeeds

@TRaz13 @FoulkShay @atrippyfarmer 3 oz meso pretty standard. Never seen 2.7 oz before. It’s super cheap and effective but don’t let the corn get too tall

@FoulkShay @atrippyfarmer Careful with balance as doubling up HPPD already. 3oz meso max. With balance pre. Skip ATZ pre. Just post. I’d do 24-32oz harness instead of zidua. Horse a piece. Clean fields 👍

I'm new to doing our own herbicide program. This is from a trusted farmer and friend I work with that has clean fields. I built this sheet to make sure my brain had it straight, so any errors are mine. Looking for any additional input and suggestions before ordering. Thanks in advance

We gave this field a year’s “rest”; no herbicides applied and very little commercial fertilizer(I think 30-40-ish lbs of N went thru the pivot for the milo). ‘22 & ‘23 corn crops were basically failures. Grower turned it into hunting for ‘24. It’ll go corn this year. As soon as I arrived yesterday to see how the winter has treated it, I was greeted by tons of birds chirping & singing. Once the ground thaws & warms up I’m going to pull some soil health samples to see where we’re sitting.
