As a game dev, there’s something so satisfying about guessing the game engine instantly just by looking at the lighting and overall rendering.

@Blade_of_Wiz @Fatal_Claw rewrite is the whole point. youre not adding content youre reusing memory. upstream lever is whether the old dead end was memorable. if it was forgettable the new ability is just a key. metroidvanias live or die at the upstream landmark step

@Fatal_Claw Ability-gated traversal is such a satisfying loop to build, every new power retroactively rewrites the whole map in the player's head. backtracking stops being a chore and starts being the payoff. Beastopia looks like it's leaning into that well
