@BangkokDi I did do that at the DLT Chatuchak. When i did that beginning of 2023 they just changed their regulations to allow that. However, they recommended me to do it at Chatuchak as other branches are slow to implement new regulations. do call ahead and ask what other docs are needed.

Can I use my yellow tabien baan as proof of address for driving license renewal in Bangkok? Or better to use immigration letter? Thank you.

What’s the point of tuktuks in 2025? They cost more than metered taxis, move slower than motorcycle taxis, pollute like it’s a hobby, and somehow make more noise than a rock concert.

@Ajarncom We got upgraded to a larger room. In the afternoon, the company outing arrived and it got full. I think this hotel is mainly used for annual company gatherings.

We've arrived at our second hotel - The seriously corporate Eastin in Rayong. Clinging to the edges of the Maptha Phut Industrial Estate, you can almost smell the petroleum and hear the thud of the mighty jackhammer. The beach looks bobbins. But we've only paid 800 baht a night under the government scheme, and we got an upgrade, albeit to a room that's actually smaller than the one we originally booked. The hotel said we can't use our 500 baht a day food voucher in its restaurants, but there are places close by where we can. So it's all good 😆 🤣 😂

@Ajarncom We had the exact same impression. I wonder why the hotel doesn't even try to clean up the beach area a little bit.

The beach is - and let me be charitable here - pretty awful. And there it is on the skyline - rising majestically - The Maptha Phut Industrial Estate. I wonder who it was who said - "I know, let's build a hotel"
