Seeing @Revolut in the wild a lot now in Portugal to pay for things Very soon it will be the biggest bank in Portugal and many other European countries too Amazing to see how fast the dinosaur banks here are getting destroyed by an intl fintech app that actually does its job

They ask because the supplier of credit card machine wants to do the FX and charge you the spread (already got charged a 10% spread because I did not check). If you have a good credit card, the FX fee will be substantially lower than the machine. So pass in the local currency EUR.

Question for a payments expert. What I pay for something by card in Spain, the reader offers me the choice to pay in euros or dollars. Obviously dollars are removed from my account. And the cafe gets euros. So what’s really going on in the transaction that requires this step?

Eventually, pharma & biotech will realize that the market for sick people is inconsequential in size compared to the market for healthy people. It's a much larger market. Enormous.

@bhartivatsal A bunch of people are starting to dunk on this as if us releasing this were bad. If you're 18 and a brilliant engineer, you aren't born with this. This is 101, basic knowledge. And is it complicated? Yes Accounting you could spend a lifetime learning! Hard to distill to 1 page.

@beffjezos It is not a good comparison wealth vs GDP. It is comparing accumulation vs change. Wealth is what accumulates for being productive (or the expectation of), GDP is the amount being produced (each year).

@elonmusk Happiness is to look back to your life, the people you love and family and be proud of it. It is more than a passing feeling. Don’t let a passing inkling hurt you. Real happiness is forged in hard work, blood and tears.

@SawyerMerritt I can tell you directly there is no way Tesla will deploy only 1,000 Robotaxi's by EOY 2026. That is way low. At least add a zero.

Morgan Stanley in new $TSLA note: “Tesla's removal of the safety driver in its Austin fleet marks a pivotal moment in proving out its vision-only approach to autonomy. The scaling of a passive optical-only AV system would seriously challenge the conventional thinking of many in the robotaxi community – we expect Tesla to make significant progress in 2026 with 1,000 robotaxis on the road by year-end, scaling to 30,000 by end of decade (with upside bias) and 5mn by 2040.”

Americans should visit East Asia — Japan, Korea, China, Singapore — to see what humans can build with their own hands, and ask themselves why they stopped building. Walk on the streets without a tour guides, immersing yourself in foreign languages, most importantly observing their construction sites watching their workers putting a structure together. You cannot compete if nothing around you actually build anything other than homeless camps. We might be better at Node.js, but physical things we are way behind. Build.

TESLA'S LATEST FSD SAFETY DATA: 7-9X SAFER THAN HUMANS Q3 2025 numbers straight from Tesla: vehicles on Full Self-Driving (Supervised) hit one crash every 6.36 million miles, U.S. human average sits at roughly one every 702,000 miles. Simple division: 7-9 times safer when engaged. Backed by real-world miles. Charts show steady gains from late 2024 into 2025, topping out near 4.92 million miles per incident, plus claims of 85% fewer crashes, 35k fewer deaths, 2 million fewer injuries overall. The ignorance and gaslighting of these people is genuinely astounding. You DON'T need batteries to store renewable energies. BY FAR the most mature and widely deployed form of grid-scale energy storage is to lift water to a high spot with the renewable energy, and when you want to get the energy back, you let it fall with gravity to move a turbine (similar to the way a dam works). It's called pumped hydro storage (PHS), it accounts for over 94% of all long-duration grid storage capacity globally (hydropower.org/factsheets/pum…), and it's extremely efficient (80% round-trip efficiency: atb.nrel.gov/electricity/20…). The notion that because you don't make a battery you are somehow subservient to China to store renewable energy is simply complete and utter hogwash.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Lutnick at Davos: "Why are you going to do solar and wind? Why would Europe agree to be net zero in 2030 when they don't make a battery? They don't make a battery! So if they go 2030, they are deciding to be subservient to China." (Get a load of the looks on the other panelists' faces)

Friends, happy Thanksgiving! This is the day to express gratitude. This is also the day to ponder the wisdom that what is a Black Swan surprise for the turkey can be a White Swan certainty for the butcher. So just don't be the turkey and it's all going to be OK.

Here are my assumptions of how many Robotaxis Tesla will have in operation by the end of 2026. The metro regions are based on publicly available job openings from Tesla for roles related to Robotaxi testing and/or operations. The size of the fleet is based on assumptions of Tesla's current approach in Austin and the Bay Area and their goals for later this year (500 in Austin, 1,000 in the Bay Area). These numbers are very likely quite optimistic, but let me know what you think. $TSLA

@niccruzpatane The curious thing after listening to this. Now I think Waymo is the one not transparent. Accuse your enemies of the very same thing you are doing. How many miles is AI driven? Not the car miles but actual AI model. How many is someone in another room?

Waymo’s Co-CEO thinks Tesla hasn’t earned the right to make the roads safer, because she thinks Tesla lacks transparency. “If you’re gonna put vehicles on the road, without a driver behind the wheel, and you’re gonna have someone in another room observing the fleet who can take over the vehicles— it is incumbent upon you to be transparent about what’s happening. If you’re not being transparent, it is my view that you are not doing what’s necessary in order to earn the right to make the roads safer.” Interviewer: “So based on that definition is Tesla doing the work, is it transparent enough” Waymo Co-CEO: “What do you think?”
