We applaud the Energy and Commerce Committee for supporting enhanced #PBM transparency by unanimously advancing the PATIENT Act to the House floor. Lawmakers have been focused on addressing #PBM abuses which adversely impact patients, taxpayers and community pharmacies.

Vitamins at the pharmacy will cost exactly what’s advertised on the shelf. For prescriptions, it’s near impossible to tell what you’ll be charged. Patients will even get charged different prices for the same exact drug—because Big Insurance profits off a lack of transparency.

Since 2010, 15% of independent pharmacies have closed. A major reason is Pharmacy Benefit Managers' high DIR fees, which can cause pharmacies to lose $ selling prescriptions. We must eliminate these fees to protect independent pharmacies & reduce costs. @OversightDems
