De laatste dagen heb ik veel gelezen over de diplomatieke rel tussen de VS en ons land. Er worden terechte zaken gezegd, maar ook veel onzin verspreid. Dat laatste vooral in de mainstreammedia. Hier op X ligt het niveau gelukkig vaak hoger. Wat mij vooral frappeert, is dat Conner en zijn medestanders beweren dat de Amerikaanse demarche een gevaarlijk precedent is. Rousseau noemt het onaanvaardbaar dat wie kritiek geeft op Trump de VS niet meer binnen zou mogen. Maar hij en zijn vrienden begrijpen het punt niet. Hij mag Trump dom of onbekwaam noemen en harde politieke kritiek uiten. Dat valt onder de vrijheid van meningsuiting. Hem echter met Hitler vergelijken is iets anders. Zulke vergelijkingen zijn niet alleen historisch zwaarbeladen, ze raken ook aan wetgeving rond negationisme en de banaliserende omgang met het naziverleden, wat in ons land bijzonder gevoelig en juridisch omkaderd is. Daarnaast moet Conner beseffen dat hij niet zomaar een burger is die zijn mening ventileert. Hij is voorzitter van een regeringspartij, en de VS is onze belangrijkste NAVO-bondgenoot. Een burger kan veel zeggen zonder diplomatieke gevolgen. Een politicus met verantwoordelijkheid hoort de impact van zijn woorden in te schatten. Als je als partijvoorzitter zulke onverstandige uitspraken doet, zonder enig diplomatiek besef, dan moet je ook de consequenties dragen. Vrijheid van meningsuiting is essentieel, maar ze is geen vrijgeleide om bevriende staatshoofden te beledigen zonder gevolgen. Na de vele kwalijke episodes rond Conner in de afgelopen jaren is het opvallend dat hij nu zelf eens op de gevolgen van zijn uitspraken botst. Wie voortdurend de grens opzoekt, moet niet verbaasd zijn dat er ooit een reactie komt. Wie was het die tijdens corona intelligente mensen die geen vaccin wilden, zo goed als overal de toegang wilde ontzeggen? Conner Rousseau. Karma is toch een geweldige trut! Misschien is het nu toch EINDELIJK ook eens tijd voor de volgende stap. Kunnen jullie a.u.b. helpen om massaal aan @DPGMediaBE en @faroekozgunes te vragen om de geplande reportage over Conner uit de lente van 2023 eindelijk nu wel eens aan de wereld te tonen?? Dan zijn we nadien voorgoed van deze gevaarlijke leugenaar verlost. Al is de leugen nog zo snel, de waarheid achterhaalt ze wel.

There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Field Office. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities.
