Today age is the problem. Most 18 year olds behave like they are 12. Not working class people because many of them take on adult responsibilities at an early age but the average college student has the maturity level of an 8th grader in the 1940’s and even less knowledge of history & civics.

I was raised in a Catholic family and still feel a Catholic but I agree with you. We can worship God, love Jesus, Mary & Joseph, be moral kind & generous people both inside and outside of a church. And with all due repect, we can connect with God without Papal authority. You aren’t anti-Catholic. You are honest.

Jesus didn’t build a system that requires an institution to access Him. He said “where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:20). He told the woman at the well that the time was coming when true worshipers would worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem but in spirit and in truth (John 4:21-24). He was dismantling the idea that access to God is tied to a specific location, a specific institution, or a specific ritual performed by a specific class of people. God ended the system that required intermediaries by walking among us for 33 years. And there is not one verse that when properly understood in its original context, original language, and original audience says otherwise.

I watched excerpts of a parliamentary hearing on X. A woman MP asked the Chief of Police about why officers responding to a disturbance call, on discovering a naked drunk 13 year old ciild in a room with 7 Pakistani men arrested the girl and not the men. Also when the girl’s father went to the police station demanding accountability they told him the 13 year old had made a “life style choice” and they would arrest him for complaining.

Sadly, certain children in the foster care system have serious mental health issues. Exposed to drugs & alcohol in the womb, physically, sexually or psychologically abused & then abandoned by unfit parents. Awful situation and the average person who volunteers to be a foster parent cannot magically repair this type of damage.
