Calling this racist is an attempt to block genuine concern. Polygamy and cousin marriage are not races. They are cultural and religious practices, and people have every right to question their impact on women, children, integration, public spending and British society. Polygamy cannot lawfully be entered into in Britain. Taxpayers should not be expected to accommodate or financially support imported family structures that British law does not permit. The constant misuse of the racism accusation has become a blank-cheque attack on free speech. Raise legitimate concerns about damaging practices and, rather than answer the point, someone shouts “racist” to shame, intimidate and silence you. At it worst, it results in a young stabbing victim bleeding out in handcuffs. That abuse of the term is itself discriminatory.
