Back to lung adenocarcinoma growth patterns. The worst ones in terms of prognosis are solid and micropapillary. Problem for PGY1s: lung micropapillary is a bit different than other organs. 18. Clue no. 2 to melanoma: melanin pigment. It's brown and looks like hemosiderin. If you see this type of pigment in or near plasmacytoid malignant cells, your radar for melanoma should start going off!! Basic melanoma immunostains: SOX-10 (best), S-100, MART-1, HMB-45
