The final moments of the #BastilleDay #fireworks were so exciting. In fact, the whole display was great! We were treated to 20 minutes of perfectly timed music and fireworks with a projection show and 2 flying acrobats. #EiffelTower #Paris #lafetenationale

@SimonCalder I think running the odd train to airports would be a good plan. Lots of people are flying in and out (and those of us that have to work wouldn’t have to pay a small fortune on taxis)

Rail: as usual no passenger trains ran in the UK on Christmas Day. Very few running today. Do you think that’s the right policy? Should everyone get time off on two low-demand days? Or is the Continental Europe approach, often with a near-normal service on 25/26 December, better?
