@thegrayfruit Built a computer for a woman in about 1997. Hard drive failed 4 times. Corrupted as shit. 4th time I went to her house to replace the drive and the pc was plastered in fridge magnets. Almost makes no sense telling that now...

it fucks me up mentally that electronics and magnets just got over their beef for the most part like they're chill now. my phone has a magnet on it. my pc case has a magnet on it. unsettling

@MaxCrider @GamewithDave Exactly this. Got the demo with PC Mag. Played 5 minutes on a crappy 2MB graphics card. Uninstalled the game. Drove to the nearest PC World and bought the game and a 16MB Riva TNT. Loved that game so much.

@GamewithDave Half-life Uplink, the demo game, is what got me hooked. Once I played the full game my world changed.

For anyone who used a computer between 1990 & 2005… what’s the one game you still think about?

@KasperStats @TheLukeK Day 0 is your first reading. 1 week later you get the second measurement. 2 weeks in, you have the 3rd to triangulate. You don't even need to take the earth's curvature into account as triangulation is 3 dimensional, so you get the exact point in space.

@TheLukeK and the exact location after 3, and you can Zeno's Paradox your way to within a few inches not long after!

it's funny because this task sounds impossible but then when you think about it for like 2 seconds it would actually be pretty easy and won't take more than a few weeks

@MoChatra Journalists should be reporting on news, not MAKING news. Sports journalists seem to get 'reporter' mixed up with 'pundit'. I don't want their damned opinion - I want to make my own opinion based on factual information.

Just out of curiosity, have any journalists written articles calling for Slot to be sacked? I've seen plenty regurgitating lines fed to them by the club (i.e. Slot has the club's full backing) but struggling to think of any arguing that Slot's time as head coach is done.

@esjesjesj He's really good at a few particular things & can excel when a director knows how to use him properly -- I'd say that he actually is quite good in the Matrix, Bill & Ted, and John Wick franchises! But his range is very, very limited.
