The COPE from #TheOdyssey GLAZERS is astounding. First, the "record" opening weekend box office numbers were excluding ALL DAY Thursday showings and they pretended this was just Friday and Saturday. NOW that this "sold out" shit fest has dropped ... "Masterpieces" don't drop.
Banned King 👑@DbacksRbetter

@shinychrome78 @BigDaddy91505 @GlobalBoxOffice -49% includes opening weekend Thursday previews. It was actually 22% drop WoW which is sensational.

THE ODYSSEY crossed the $400M mark at the global box office yesterday, after only 8 days of release. With $25.9M made on Friday, its 2nd weekend is now tracking to surpass OPPENHEIMER domestic debut, with $83M-$88M.

My main takeaway from Patel, an actor I don’t normally like very much, was: he’s nailing this!

Some of the replies to this thread are like “but at least everyone in braveheart was white” which made me think “is that true?” And the fact that I don’t even remember is the whole point. Most people aren’t seeing a black person on screen and going “BLACK BLACK BLACK”

It's truly funny watching fat embittered retards like Joe here, so desperate for a win in an endless ocean of losses, that they'll blatantly make up things that never happened. I've ALWAYS said the Odyssey would make money regardless of the backlash. Guess what? I was right. You're trying to claim victory in a battle that only exists in your head.
Joe Vargas@AngryJoeShow

Its truly funny watching @Nerdrotics @TheCriticalDri2 & all their buddies lose their shit over this film daily. Now disowning & dunking on their OWN FANS & SUBS to avoid being associated w/ taking an L. 🤣 Yall were embarassed by Nolan, time to move on to whining about the next "woke" film that'll actually fail for other reasons that elude you. That'll work better than throwing fans under the bus. Promise. 👍

@KarolusWangus It makes sense in a world where you approve of sex slavery and have a stringent concept of purity in a household. But excising that (a woman needs to be tortuously sacrificed to atone for her rape) is not remotely de-Christianizing a text.

"For all you guys who said that Nolan's not a conservative, here he is admitting he doesn't enjoy watching women get tortured to death. What kind of a conservative doesn't enjoy that?"

Just quiet part out loud, for Matt Walsh being a conservative Christian necessarily means hating women and enjoying them getting hurt. He cannot understand a Christianity that doesn't include sadistic violence against women.

@Polymarket Except Homer's work has been around for thousands of years, while Nolan's legacy will boil down to that one time he worked with Heath Ledger

Nolan on why he gutted the real ending of The Odyssey: "The end of the poem is so grim and so misogynistic, I had to exclude some of that material." He didn't adapt Homer. He edited him for wrongthink. 3,000 years of literature, rewritten because a millionaire director decided the original was problematic. Note he waited until the film had been out a week to release this information. Hollywood is intentionally destroying our culture. Do you get it now?

In the Odyssey, after the slaughter of the suitors, Odysseus deals with the female slaves of the palace. Eurycleia tells him which of the servant women were unfaithful and slept with the suitors. There are twelve of these slave women. Odysseus first orders them to clean the hall (to remove the corpses and wash away the blood). Then he leads them out into the courtyard. There Telemachus hangs them all together with a rope from a high beam (like birds caught in a net), in order to punish them with a dishonorable death. The remaining slave women who had stayed faithful are spared and continue to serve in the palace. The relatives of the slain suitors gather and attack to take revenge. A battle breaks out, in which the father of Antinous, Eupeithes, is killed. The goddess Athena (in the form of Mentor) and Zeus intervene. Athena stops the fighting and imposes peace among the people of Ithaca, so that the cycle of bloodshed will not continue. The Odyssey ends with the definitive restoration of order, family, and peace on Ithaca. This is a just ending according to the ways, customs, and justice of the Greeks of that era. There is nothing misogynistic about it. Anyone who reaches such anachronistic conclusions is ignorant, unhistorical, uneducated, and stupid. Christopher Nolan is an insignificant man, weak and unworthy of interpreting Homer’s Odyssey. That is the reason he will be forgotten. The film may make millions and billions; it interests no one except the fools. What matters most is that the true face of this ideology is revealed. An ideology that acts like a cancer in our societies and rots the souls of the younger generations. An ideology that knows only how to poison people’s thinking and future, turning them into slaves of their own selves. A decline that will be written on the blackest pages of history. HP

NEW: Christopher Nolan says Homer’s original Odyssey ending was “so grim and so misogynistic” that it had to be altered for the film.

For a week conservative Nolan apologists have claimed that his adaptation was secretly based and “Christianized.” Now here is Nolan himself saying he changed the story to make it less “misogynistic.” Hate to say I told you so. I will now be accepting retractions and apologies.
AF Post@AFpost

Christopher Nolan said he had to change the ending of Homer’s Odyssey, specifically Telemachus’s punishment of the disloyal maidservants, because it is “so grim and so misogynistic.” Follow: @AFpost

Dolby theatres are infinitely better than IMAX. Dolby theatres around the Twin Cities are already sold out for #SpiderMan. Spider-Man is already projected to open at $200 million DOMESTIC, kicking the shit out of #TheOdyssey's FAKE "records". You love to see it ...
