Cowboys Hall of Famer Drew Pearson spoke openly about mental health and how he silently suffered through the loss of his brother. We all go through struggles in life, but fighting through those difficult moments is often the hardest part. As NFL players, former athletes, and people in general, we must learn to speak freely, listen deeply, and leave stronger than we came. Mental health is real, and no one should feel like they have to battle it alone. Drew Pearson spent his entire 11 year career (1973 to 1983) with the Dallas Cowboys, winning Super Bowl XII and earning a place on the NFL’s 1970s All Decade Team. Beyond the accolades and success on the field, his message reminds us that even the strongest people face battles that others may never see. Dealing with and fighting through mental health challenges takes courage, support, and understanding. Salute to Drew Pearson for using his voice to bring awareness to something that impacts so many people every day.
