I watched the first leg and Boro should have blitzed Southampton. Was the spy's message to try to let Boro have a headstart? It's naughty and it should be punished, but kicking a team out of the playoffs after a two-legged game that went to extra time, by the way, is absurd.

@EFL_Comms The EFL have caused this by not saying what the punishment is if that rule was broken. If they had and it was expulsion (which it should be) then clear guidance could be given to fans of all 3 clubs involved.

#Boro fans have a right to be upset with us for cheating, and to be fair it is embarrassing But some people are being a bit hysterical, calling for expulsion from the playoffs or even thrown out the league. Couldn’t see any clear sporting advantage yesterday especially 1st half
