Elyjah Staples used to be known for his basketball skills until he became a top defensive end/linebacker, so it should come as no surprise he's been dominating the City DII playoffs for Marquez, which faces Sylmar in the semifinals on Friday.

Former Taft coach Derrick Taylor guided Blair to an upset of top-seeded Bonita in D4. Marquez football star Elyjah Staples led his team to upset of Eagle Rock. Fairmont Prep eliminated Brentwood in OT.
